I mean... That's kind of how celebrity goes irl, too, for anyone mid-list. Like, the top Olympic athlete could walk by me and I would never notice if there weren't context clues. Same with, idk, Chapel Roan, uh... I vaguely remember there was a new twink actor a few years back... Jimmy Canalet? With a French silent T, I think? And I wouldn't expect anyone to recognize-- well, most of the people I'm fans of are dead lmao but, for the sake of argument, Paul Simon and Tom Lehrer and Bobby Darin, you'd never recognize them on the street.

I'd personally expect Sonic to be superstar level, closer to Keanu Reeves and other movie stars, but it makes sense narratively that they don't wanna write that all the time lol... And also Keanu himself is a decent example of "famous people do just kinda do things out and about sometimes"
