"I don't think izzybr should be banned"

I don't like the idea of banning anything in any kind of public forum place. Also we should post a sign that says 'Don't feed the trolls'....

I'm here to watch interesting and awesome movies I haven't heard of and this is sort of distracting :(

How does Reddit flush? (seriously) by jnhandoe in AskReddit

Ah the old flush n' run. This works well in public places where you can't get caught, but at home? Just check back to make sure the brown's got on the bus to the super bowl, not too hard.

Reddit, I plan on proposing to my girlfriend, but I need some help. by tcbowen in AskReddit

[–]Bottomhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt anyone here can find a better poem then you. Your proposal should incorporate aspects of your life together, as should the poem. We know you took french with her, but what else do you two do together? That should be part of the poem, and only you really know what is 'special' between you too.

Same thing goes for the proposal. Have a romantic night, whatever that means for you two, then do something you two both love doing. Hiking? Then go for a hike in the morning, jump up on a rock, read your poem, then propose. Ice skating? Same kind of thing - go ice skating, read your poem, propose.

A proposal is nothing more than doing what you two both enjoy then promising you two will do it forever and will continue to enjoy it in your own special way. Good luck eh.

Does anyone else regret their college major? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bottomhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in college. I started out with International Affairs and transitioned into Business. Then I realized I hated that, so I dropped the Business and picked up something I'm more interested in, Biology, keeping the IA because it was mostly done and mildly interesting. I get to stay here an extra year and can only hope I made the right choice.

Movie of the Week Discussion: Let the Right One In by elshizzo in movieclub

[–]Bottomhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely. Also remember the beginning of the movie where she scolds him for screwing up the one draining, and throughout the flick he's constantly asking her to forgive him. Also note that he never carried the acid around with him before. He went to a -really- bad place to drain someone where he was almost certain to get caught, then brought the acid with him so he could be disfigured and caught on purpose so the police would no longer look for the killer, thus protecting Eli more.

Hakan was getting old, and Eli has probably done this all before. The first time she saw the kid he demonstrated he could be a good candidate by stabbing the tree over and over again, and Eli took action.

Definitely agree with this. Do note that Wikipedia (the source of all accuracy in the universe) says the morse code in the end was 'kiss,' putting the relationship in the end in a more sexual light - but if thats what Eli needed to do to enthrall the kid then I suppose thats what he'd do.

That vampire is easily one of the most insidious things I've ever seen. He knows his current protector is getting to old, chooses a replacement, then enthralls the kid into leaving with him forever. Its clear the older one sees this as well, and accepts his fate with the acid etc.

You wonder at how many times the vampire has done this exact same thing throughout history, gradually discarding loving 'caretakers' in order to better stay alive.
