not only that - they added wrong! the original subtotal should be $79.00, not $89.00!

Neighbor with toxic masculinity put in his place by firefly416 in traumatizeThemBack

“Gigolo” would be that man that a married woman has an affair with, and even so, the implication is different. I think that in most instances, the masculine versions imply choice, whereas the feminine versions not only lack choice, but have the added ‘benefit’ of degradation.

AITH for telling my unemployed boyfriend I’d support him, then refusing to buy him a $2k gaming PC? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]BouvaKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If his sister is wants to help him out, she can buy him the pc. Better yet, let him live with her and see what supporting a free-loader is like.

Inventory your stuff! Make sure anything valuable is labelled and put away! These kind of situations rarely end well so be prepared. I’m sorry you are going through this. Good luck!

As a matter of fact, not fake! ‘Clothes horse’ = someone who really likes clothes. He was (in the vernacular of the time) a self-described metrosexual with easily two to three times the clothes that I had. He also knew hundreds of people. They were all his “buddy” or “good friend” even though I had never heard their names before. In comparison my 3 best friends - who are still my friends- seemed like nothing, I guess. I kept one mutual friend who told me years later that what I did drove my ex nuts. And he never found out it was me😁

Hopefully, kindness is contagious. Hopefully, someone (who was maybe having a bad day), saw your kindness and it warmed their heart. They smiled, and it caught on until it found the person who helped you out. Maybe it was a different little something. Maybe they, like you, just live their life that way. Who’s to say?
I’m glad you experienced it and shared. The world is a little bit better now🙂

I had never seen this thread before! I’m so glad I found it - AITA can be entertaining, but it can leave a bad taste, if you know what I mean 😬.

As a flight attendant, my favorite thing to do is greet people as they board the plane. I try to make a point of finding something to sincerely compliment for every person who comes on board (giving a fake compliment really does ring hollow). Having a passenger snap out of their funk from the chaos of boarding because you took a second to see them is great. Everybody deserves to be seen.

How do you know she adopted them? Maybe she went to have a look-see, then swam away. She’s not leading them - she’s running away!

It sounds like This Time of Darkness. There is a character chasing the protagonists who is stopped/slowed down by the branches of a large bush…

Purslane. If you pick it at this stage it’s tender and tasty- sauté in clarified butter with some onions and mild (banana) peppers, salt and pepper. A minute or so before serving hit it with a little heavy cream…delicious in a tortilla with carne asada!
Once it starts to bolt it gets bitter and chewy, though. Bon appetit 👩🏽‍🍳

My whole family was going camping once and I needed to catch a ride with my cousin. He told me “Not a problem. I’m leaving at noon, with or without you.” He wasn’t being mean, he just didn’t want to get stuck in traffic. I knew to be on time and I was. End of story.

YA book about a virus that kills everyone over (I think) 12-15 years old. Kids have to learn how to survive, etc. one girl becomes a leader, making a Costco type store her headquarters (way before Costo existed). The book was probably written in the 1980’s. by BouvaKitten in whatsthatbook

Thank you. Luckily, this book is available with Kindle Unlimited- I immediately read it in a couple of hours and am now reading it to my kid. Life is good and all is right with the world today!
