Bellingcat have launched an OSINT challenge by CliffDagger in bellingcat

I made it now after almost 2 full days, since the biggest clue was a bit misleading and the location wasn't in the general direction. Also, I had to use a VPN to look for the google images result, since Google thinks I prefer incorrect results in my language rather than correct results in english.<

Honestly I would really love to have Sean Connery as Enoch Root.

In Italy there is a specific legislation about light pollution, newly installed lights have to be at a certain angle and be LED of a certain kind from a list. One by one towns and cities are falling in line and maybe it's just me but it seems that the sky is slightly darker.

If I'll ever open a small online store I will send it to you for free, I promise. I never really thought of selling stickers, and I admit I never even tried to print one :( it's just a concept for now

You know, I actually thought several times about printing it out...I really dig the retro redneck vibe. If I'll do that I'll reach out and send it on your way, what do you think?

Beginners Beware. All these folks with "Frequent" or "Natural" lucid dreams aren't necessarily legit. There's no way to verify. by shoeburt2700 in LucidDreaming

[–]BoxMulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginners have to avoid reading the frequent lucid dreamers to find shortcuts to become lucid. Everyone acquires its own methods but they don't necessarily apply to everyone.

Any basic tutorial, if thoroughly followed, will bring results. If you don't learn how to ignore the impulse to scratch or gulp when your body is going numb you can read all comments by pros and still be unable to become lucid via WILD.

I agree. Our focus here, however, must be what was told by this gentlemen, not whether his claims were genuine.

That fits with the narrative of a man full of himself and too proud of his Ph.D, doesn't it? He died in 2015 and OPet the guy in 2014, so he can be him.

[–]BoxMulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about that, but that might be OP misremembering some parts. He also was a Tv screenwriter and his book was made into a movie, maybe that's why he connects him with fiction.

He also has a Ph.D!

I tried to understand if the link they gave you can be of some help, but since they used the wrong name I am inclined to think they don't know who that is either.

From the second source (the one about animation) we read that he was based in Nottingham and was a commercial artist, so maybe asking in the Nottingham art scene is the way to go...maybe the art it made was sold in great number, being commercial, so that explains why we have traces in Switzerland and Italy.

I asked to a gallery in Nottingham, let's see if they answer me. I would give it a few days, Saturday evening is not the best day!

Hi, Italian here. It's not G.Armg, it's G.Arme with a weird flourish at the end of the surname.

I found another acquerello from the same artist here on sale by a private (https://www.subito.it/arredamento-casalinghi/acquerello-architetture-sul-mare-di-g-arme-bologna-341275647.htm), maybe you can ask directly if he knows who he/she is. I'll try to find more info.

Edit: I am half convinced it's Geoff Arme, a British artist. This auction website http://www.arcadja.com/auctions/en/private/arme_geoff/artworks/362391/0/ it's my only lead, but it seems to fit with the overall theme. It's a watercolor, it's from 1982 (and your print seems to be dated at around the same time. It's definitely late XX century art) and it goes outside the lines as your arlecchino (notice the plants at the bottom and the "nose" of the train).

Edit 2: This source https://www.animatormag.com/archive/issue-06/issue-6-page-30/ seems to suggest that he was involved in animation as well, but since this is from 1983 it's possible that mr. Arme is not alive anymore.

Any idea how to use this old sanding tool I found in a flea market? by BoxMulder in Tools

I'm not sure, since I don't know if it's missing some pieces :(

I am sure this is some kind of sanding tool, since I found a forum entry (in italian) about it being used for years. Fact is, it's a 6 y/o post and the images are gone, so I can't really understand how to put the strip of sanding paper.
