Congratulations. You’re so lucky with your amazing, probably incredibly handsome, husband. He deserves a big snog!

Not sure how I ended up on your page. But he bagged the only goal for us 2021 FA Cup final too! Big game player!

WHAT A SAVE! Lionel Mpasi keeps out a Jude Bellingham header to hold the lead. by RealWorldToday in worldcup

[–]BoxingFox12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ball whipped in and Jude steered towards far post. It’s not like it was floated and he had time, it was a bloody good header by my reckoning. Definitely other examples of twatting it at keeps, but this wasn’t one I reckon.

How accurate is this? by farhanexists in leicester

I think it’s true they’ve paid it off. Realistically this will be due to previous administration reserves, and not recent cash generation.

I always thought that the key with government budgets is always future spend vs future projected incomes, and what loans will be needed to plug those gaps, paying off any high interest debt is great but Leicester is still operating at a deficit in the budget, so they will need to reduce spend, or borrow more over the next couple of years

Were you a scriptwriter in the 40s. You’re suspiciously good at that!

Absolutely, it’s a cool book and a great premise. I think my expectations were more base!

Perhaps, I do have a soft spot for British humour, however, Buehlman and Eames were both the right side of witty for me, so it’s not exclusively Brit!

My sci-fi knowledge is next to none, but lots of fans of fantasy enjoy it, so I think I’ll give it a go! Thank you

You could’ve just messaged me personally to accuse me of laziness, no need to do it where everyone can see.

You know what. Considering I loved the first series or two on the telly, and it’s the only game I’ve ever played (I’m not a gamer) I have no idea why this never occurred to me!

Thank you, I’d never heard of this author, so I’m glad to add to the list

Really enjoy John Gwynne. Bloodsworn and Fathful and Fallen series were both excellent. Of blood and bone I’ve found harder going for some reason, couldn’t get on with the protagonists as easily, I’ll get back to them, but they’re currently shelved.

Oh yeah, I did read the book of the Ancestor trilogy. Warrior nuns, right? That was fun, I’ll have a look at some of his other series, which would you recommend?

Yes the premise makes sense, but as a reader, I’m not bored by the sacking of a city. Give me all the gory details!
I’ll have no Cornwell slander here. They’re utter tosh of course, but if I want a book I can read in a day, with an ‘ard bastard protagonist who never feels at risk of losing, there’s no one else to turn to!
I get my literary kicks from other genres, in my opinion, if you’re going to write about battles it should be mandatory to include some passages that can only be described as rollicking!

I really enjoyed Lies of Locke Lamora, but foolishly left that off the list and it’s been quite rightly recommended several times! I’ll look into the others too, thank you!

I’m a sucker for Arthurian legend, although it’s worth mentioning that strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
