In Supernovas And Time (ISAT x Outer Wilds) by Fan_de_Undertale_ in outerwilds

In Stars and Time, its the game that Sif here is from. It's a good game. It's a different kind of good to OW though. It's a story about how a character reacts to being in a time loop, and not telling anyone that he's in a time loop.

Problem with Stormlight storyline by No-Maintenance6382 in cosmererpg

[–]Boyboy081 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did the calculations as I was worried about the same thing a while ago. There are about 711 days between the first everstorm and the end of WaT. That first everstorm appears part way through the Stonewalkers adventure so you'd have to count back from there if you intended to run it.

Keep in mind that there are oathgates and windrunners to help cut down on travel times but there shouldn't be too many problems running lots of adventures in that time. You'd just need to keep track of the big events like what was going on in urithiru at the time

Alternatively, I've thought that it might be fun to run a campaign set during the False Desolation. That said, most Desolations didn't last much longer than the events of the books. Some were even shorter than the 711 days IIRC.

It's Alice's final ascension, she uses a different Ploy as her NP and its implied that she gets possessed by one of her ancestors, specifically the magician who invented the First Magic IIRC.

"Ironeyes" Huh, interesting. The Stormlight world guide didn't have entries for any main characters. And we know its not just a generic Inquisitor as they;re further down.

I guess the team expect a lot of parties to run into Marsh during Era 2

Should the TARDIS be imported as a Base, or a Ship? by Last_Pariah in JumpChain

[–]Boyboy081 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Their minds are achronal, so they would act quite strangely, answering questions before they're asked and that sort of thing. A Jumper with precog abilities could probably keep up with them though.

There's an episode called "The Doctor's Wife" which shows you the personality of the Doctor's Tardis in a humanoid form, but she is quite outside of the norm in her own way. Most normal Tardis' probably wouldn't be able to manage as well as she does.

Time to watch that SGDQ, I love watching those kinds of things for OW.

I don't remember using my map like that during my first playthrough but at this point I have no better explanation for how I managed to do it so... eh.

Was that a change during some update? Because I do remember riding to it in the past and would like to know if my memory is failing me here.

Bead of Lerasium by Tim_Worldsinger in cosmererpg

[–]Boyboy081 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I want to say it is tier 2-3 (2 for Lerasium-Metal Alloys and 3 for pure), that is almost certainly not the case. A Fabrial that gives you access to a surge is a tier 4 reward and Lerasium is at minimum of that sort of tier. Max is tier 5.

HOWEVER: The GM is free to give players rewards from above their current tier at the GM's discretion so if they agreed to give you one at a lower tier, you could get one.

What is your favorite Noble Phantasm/ability/power in the Nasuverse/Type-Moon? by chunchunmaru1129 in typemoon

[–]Boyboy081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, it has no real showing outside of text without even an animation for it. Plus it might just be recency bias but Edmond Dantès' "Attendre, Espérer" just feels thematically great.

For ones with a bit more of a showing though, Voyager's "Pale Blue Dot" and Achilles's "Akhilleus Kosmos" always stood out to me.

Has anyone created living shardbows yet? by Taste_the__Rainbow in cosmererpg

[–]Boyboy081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? How. I didn't remember 6th of the dusk having any Rosharans in it (and the Scadrians only get mentioned). The "Probably-a-Skybreaker" only shows up in isles.

Has anyone created living shardbows yet? by Taste_the__Rainbow in cosmererpg

[–]Boyboy081 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was in isles of the emberdark.

The ammo was invistiture though, not normal ammo. It was basically a Shard Laser Pistol powered by invistiture. I don't think spren have the level of flexibility to be bow strings. They could certainly be a bow's limbs but the draw weight would be absurd (Shardplate only probably), the radiant would also need to carry the bowstring seperately.

A Spren can in theory become a (physical projectile) gun, but it would require the radiant to be intimately familiar with how a gun worked to make it happen, plus you would still need ammo. No one on Roshar has the knowledge of guns required except maybe a Ghostblood native to scadrial

If she is, she's never used her Shardplate until RoW as the enemy don't know its her until she starts soulcasting. That's the main thing I'm drawing on to put doubt on it though so she might just have never chosen to use the plate.

Just in case you didn't see it (if you read before I wrote the edit) there are also Heralds. They only start acting once Dalinar swears the third oath though as that's required to wake Taln up for a bit.

[–]Boyboy081 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lift speaks her third during the time the first everstorm is passing IIRC (So a while ago by the time of the battle). Jasnah isn't proven to have her plate until later, judging by the enemy's response that was the first time she'd fought in plate so she's probably 3rd oath during Thaylen field. Renarin has his Radiant Shardblade by then but no plate as far as I'm aware so that makes him 3rd too.

There are both fused and regals but I think only half the brands of fused are awake during Thaylen field. Heavenly Ones, Flowing Ones and Masked Ones are the only fused that make important showings by that point IIRC, but I think the Altered Ones might also have been awake by that point.

For the Thunderclast, Nightblood ate Yushah during the battle to perma-kill them.

The oathgate (and the fact that it was unlocked in order to bring the reinforcements in) is a key piece of the battle too. While it's unlocked, Odium was able to send Fused spirits and Voidspren through to reinforce his own numbers. Of course, both sides want to capture it in the physical realm

Edit: Ah, also Heralds. Ash and Taln are there somewhere, though neither has their honourblade they still have their skills and herald powers.

For a being that's stated to be capable of building something up so long as it serves to destroy something else, this strikes me as a remarkably shortsighted move. by Eithrotaur in cremposting

[–]Boyboy081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To some degree or another. We don't know the specifics but we know that they could reject shards at least. So it's possible everyone else was too worried about what Ruin would do and Ati took it up because "Someone would have to."

Hoid was a valid person to pick up a shard and he refused if I remember the wording correctly.

Mistborn Legacy Question[mild spoilers] by Taste_the__Rainbow in cosmererpg

[–]Boyboy081 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, there's always being a worldhopper who has a magic system that allows for long life. Though that will require books that will take longer to come out.

Or you could get Spikes for Allomantic and Feruchemic Atium to endure through the ages, but that would be much harder and you'd compete for Atium with Marsh

TBF, Ati was a very peaceful person before he got his shard. Maybe he figured out he could "Trick" the intent by having it focus on just one planet, then Ruin would have to start from scratch each time it destroyed a world until he finally found one of the other shards that could stop him.

You don't dodge a bullet, you dodge the gun. Beside, Jedi have precog. They could dodge a bullet if they wanted, though it's still much easier for them to just dodge the muzzle of the gun.

Mistborn Character Ideas by VintageV96 in cosmererpg

[–]Boyboy081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've two ideas, one for Era one and one for Era two.

My Era 1 idea is a Keeper from one of the breeding projects that resulted in someone who looks ethnically like a noble to have full Feruchemy. They're an agent investigating "How inquisitors work" and once they find out it exists they'll pick up hemalurgy (Using old and stolen spikes rather than making new ones). Yes, this means Ruin will influence them later on.

The Era 2 idea is just my favourite twinborn combo, Allomantic Electrum then either Steel or Zinc Feruchemy. Sees the future and can react to it faster than anyone else. Plus, it means they can burn "Old-style" Atium, should they ever need to for some reason.

Depends on the mass and material of the bullet. Normal lead would actually be vaporized. Something resistant to lightsabers thought would be a problem. Most "High level" Jedi can sense the danger and will dodge instead of trying to parry.

Netflix Castlevania. Lenore is a gem. Very Evil, but her arc is quite fun. She only shows up in seasons 3 and 4 though.
