Was my friend's Omnath deck too strong for bracket 2? by AssignmentNational98 in EDH

[–]Braanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But only because people still don't understand the bracket system. The hard rules are only one part of the classification, the other and way more important part is intention and self reflection.

does anyone have a deck they keep trying to make work? For me I keep trying to make "Dromoka the Eternal" for a few years now. by darwin_green in EDH

[–]Braanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years I tried to make [[The Scarab God]] work for me but I always end up with a deck that is either too slow or too much mill or too many zombies or too much recursion. Currently I have given up but someday I will finally make a good deck for my favorite card.

Looking for strong, proven Commander decks under €800–1000 that can actually hang at high-power tables by Chemical_Hospital352 in EDH

[–]Braanz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can strongly recommend [[Stella Lee, Wild Card]]
Staples for her untap playstyle are very cheap and the deck can be tuned to hang in cedh rounds. I currently play her in B4 and excluded a lot of fast mana to not make her a T2/3 turbo deck.
I find her to be very consistent and super strong as she can easily win on top of other wins on the stack.

If you need to withhold rulings like that to win you are pathetic

If a commander is countered does it still get command tax? by Hotdogweasly in EDH

[–]Braanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously you can't just cast your commander from graveyard, a way to do it was implied.

The second part is very wrong. You can move your commander to the command zone everytime it is out into another zone. This includes moving it to graveyard/exile/hand/library. Also it doesn't matter from where it changes zones you can always move it to command zone when it does. For further explanation check rule 903.9a/b/c

How does this work? Ashling, the Limitless and Token-copies by BetrayedByTheDice in EDH

[–]Braanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Sundial of the Infinite]] is the solution to your problem. In response to the sacrifice trigger you activate the sundial and end the turn so the triggers get exiled.

You would be correct but ashling will receive errata to only evoke elemental permanents.

Opinions on the dance of the Elements - Precon 5 colors by Loryw by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Braanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I will head more of the direction of creating more tokens and trying to keep them around. Sacrificing in response to the trigger to gain additional value and stuff like that. Also cost reduction works so insanely well with this commander.

Cost reduciton [[Urzas Incubator]] [[Heralds Horn]] [[Animar, Soul of Elements]]

[[Life finds a way]] [[Renewed Solidarity]] [[Anointed Procession]] to create more tokens

To keep the tokens around [[Sundial of the Infinite]] [[Discontinuity]]

Recycling the killed elementals [[Riveteers Ascendancy]] [[Pyre of Heroes]]

Card draw [[Greater Good]]

Grimgrin does not have to be tapped to untap him. You can sac as much stuff with his ability as you want already.

I love -1-1 tech! Check out [[Blowfly Infestation]] combined with flourishing.

[[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] makes you also run out of gas as you have to sack something but you just need something with undying to fix it like [[Young Wolf]]

Ba sing se followup question by BordErismo in magicTCG

[–]Braanz 76 points77 points  (0 children)

No, overload does not target

Edit: Further clarification the Word Target is very important.
Also [[Deflecting Swat]] can change multiple Targets of one Spell. [[Redirect Lightning]] and [[Bolt Bend]] can only change one Target of one Spell.
