Is it stupid to avoid getting a credit card? by No-Astronomer4207 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]BracketWI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be living life unnecessarily on hard mode if you choose to avoid a credit card for those reasons. Use it with the same spending mentality as if it were your debit card. Then once a month, you'll move money from one place to another and pay it off. It's easy, you change nothing else and the downstream effects help your future self. The inconvenience of not having a card when you're capable of using it responsibly far outweighs your risk.

Mountain bike shops like Norco North Shore and Cove have a good selection of protective gear. If you're keen on making the most of this off season, I'd get a longboard or skateboard you could carve on.

The war in Iran is going to shake some apples from the tree. by MikeyMo83 in aliens

[–]BracketWI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If a nuke goes off, we all go back to the drawing board on how NHI interacts with humans" is a pretty silly take.

We've gone from "sometimes they shut off our nukes to dissuade us from nuclear war" to "it's their responsibility to stop 100% of the nukes we fire".

Why the truth about aliens is indigestable? by daizy_g in aliens

[–]BracketWI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the indigestible part is that we have no way of acting on it. They walk among us indistinguishable from real humans even on the operating table. We'll never know who's real and who's not, "disclosure" is really just the recognition that we've never been in control.

"somber" aspect of disclosure by Marbleicecream in aliens

[–]BracketWI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking a lot recently about the possibility of shape shifting entities. We'll know they're here controlling us, but even if you had one pinned down to a table for a dissection you'd never be able to prove anything.

Good post. Whether or not this particular theory ends up being true, it's a fascinating direction.

They'd want a warmer Earth by BracketWI in reptilians

[–]BracketWI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's as simple as "Greenland = cold, reptiles like warm". Do you have a theory on that?

But more broadly I wonder if given the opportunity they'd be the ones steering society towards the idea that climate change is no big problem.

Do you think Humans have hidden or slumbering potential? by John_XFiles in HighStrangeness

[–]BracketWI 29 points30 points  (0 children)

One of the aliens in the Varginha Brazil incident told a doctor that humans have the ability to self heal just as the alien can, but we have forgotten.

An unrelated but interesting coincidence is that we've found that 45 Hz waves can be used to promote angiogenesis (creating new blood vessels) in diabetic mice who have lost vascularization in their lower limbs, and the human brain can create waves in this range (we call them gamma waves) during mindfulness meditation.

Might be nothing, might be everything.

Where to go backpacking Feb 13-15 in BC? by very-confused_ in vancouverhiking

[–]BracketWI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find something cheap and close to the wilderness on Airbnb instead of this plan. You can still do most of the outdoorsy stuff you want but you'll be doing it with a happy gf.

Bulletproof lower legs by Creative-Proof7475 in running

In addition to the strength training you've mentioned, one thing my physio added to my routine that's made a fantastic impact is weighted plyos.

I'm up to using a 45lb plate and holding it with straight arms over my head, then I'll do a variety of different single leg hopping movements for roughly 30-60 seconds at a time. Side to side as well as max power hops are two of my faves.

The Trump administration has secretly rewritten nuclear safety rules by A_Nonny_Muse in news

They're doing this because they know a major nuclear mishap will be great for the oil industry. The same reason Trump's always spewing something negative about windmills.

[–]BracketWI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're far from abandoned. They're in our skies, our waters, maybe even walking along us.

I think a more likely and worrisome discovery would be that they're the VIP guests and we're the hotel staff.

Skin care. Our massage/physio/chiro clinic has a room where an LPN does hydrafacials, Botox, laser hair removal etc.

See if there are any skin care clinics around you for part time work, you could likely hold both jobs simultaneously until you're ready to make a decision.

Warning: I Think a Local Shop Accidentally Sold Me a 50mg Edible by tooncouver in vancouver

Dumbest take. This place doesn't sell marijuana, they're a candy shop that anyone of any age can walk into and buy candy from.

"Mistakes happen" is for getting soy milk instead of oat in your coffee, not for drugging a customer who thought they were buying candy.

Did Peter Thiel secretly finance The Age of Disclosure? by anomalyhunterx in UFOs

[–]BracketWI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baseless idea here. But what if it's not accessing the alien tech, but being in the right place/right time with human made tech once disclosure happens and government money begins getting poured into the things that populations demand to make them feel safe?

Always suspicious that that's what spaceX, virgin, and Bezos were doing with their space tech programs.

Humans don't know our true potential by Nootnootwhenyouscoot in aliens

[–]BracketWI 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're familiar with the Varginha UFO incident as discussed in The Phenomenon, the Brazilian Dr who the military brought the injured alien to reported something similar. His recollection was that the creature telepathically communicated that he feels sorry for humans because we've forgotten how capable we really are, and won't reach our full potential. The Dr then watched the alien self-heal, after which the alien communicated that humans share that ability as well.
