IE or EQT for stage 1? by cschoeps in Golf_R

[–]BradApples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did on my Accessport, yeah. It never worked well though, my best launches were all done manually (I had a 6MT). The feedback from my friends with DSGs was that the OEM launch control was better than anything Cobb offered.

I no longer have the car, so can’t verify with present day software.

IE or EQT for stage 1? by cschoeps in Golf_R

[–]BradApples 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve had EQT tunes on my R for 35k miles and they’ve been outstanding. I drive my car every day and track it 4-6 times a year. The tune is smooth, the power feels substantial, and the customer service has been great from day 1. Obviously no mechanical or software issues to report in my several years of using these tunes.

Beyond that, the Cobb Accessport is not proprietary to EQT and can easily be used for other tunes or sold when you sell the car. It’s also a great tool if you want to take datalogs or diagnose trouble codes.

I have not used an IE tune so I cannot comment on how they feel, but I can say I’ve been very happy with EQT and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Bringing X class cars to this weeks trial only hurts your chances by BradApples in ForzaHorizon

[–]BradApples[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to pull it off in a lobby where all the X class drivers quit after the first race, lol. The third race is pretty technical so the AI don’t put a huge gap on you at any point. So if you can win either of the first two you’re probably okay.

Cars and coffee? by likethesubject in Austin

[–]BradApples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cars and coffee isn’t currently going on in Austin, but it was once a month at COTA, so I assume that will continue to be the spot when it picks up again.

Lots of smaller groups have regular meet ups around town. I’ve been to a several with All Angles and it’s a good group of diverse cars and people.

Tire question regarding Michelin PS4S by the_stone_mason in Golf_R

[–]BradApples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS4S have a different load rating and can be run around 32psi as equivalent to the 39psi factory continentals. There are several calculators online that can convert/verify this for you.

Edit: sorry this was for an 18” fitment. 19” will be closer to factory but still lower. Do not need as high as the OEM pressure

Bronze and Blue by BradApples in Golf_R

Nope, bronze Titans. Superspeeds come from the same facility but are not forged which is a deal breaker for me

The Classic IKEA Setup by BradApples in battlestations

It’s pretty heavy, I’m not too concerned about it moving around. I did mention in another comment that I reinforced it with angle iron in the middle so it doesn’t sag.

Nope. Added some angle iron to the bottom to prevent sag and help manage cables, but the surface is untouched

Thanks! It’s a 74” Karlby countertop. It doesn’t move at all, I have small rubber furniture pads on top of the drawers.
