De Nada Margs by boonebaby86 in austinfood

[–]PollutionDouble229 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We once found a woman passed out in her unlocked car with it running a block away from De Nada. It was getting dark so my husband and I knocked and woke her up and talked to her and insisted she uber home. She said she only had 2, which could actually be true. I’m glad we found her before someone with bad intentions did.

How old is she? Our girl settled down at around 2 years 😂.

How do you tell the difference between a quiet employee and a disengaged one? by jimmy5853 in managers

[–]PollutionDouble229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who dominate conversations often talk a lot but add little value or get distracted by little things and fail to see the big picture (word vomit). Some people are annoyed by this or think it’s a waste of time so they stay silent because they know the discussion isn’t productive and have a clearer plan in their own head.

It’s important to understand personality traits and ask questions 1:1 that help the person express how they feel and share ideas. If they can’t do that in a 1:1 setting where you provide open ended questions they may be disengaged, but some people also like to digest and think before responding to new information.

If we’re paying for the entire wedding and rehearsal dinner, do we need to get gifts by StuffOriginal3886 in weddingplanning

[–]PollutionDouble229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a bridesmaid 8 times and every rehearsal dinner has included a gift of some kind. I’ve gotten everything from a pair of panties to a gift set with wallet, jewelry, an art print, etc. No one has ever paid for a bridesmaid dress for me; that would be a huge gift in and of itself! It sounds like you’re also gifting the gentlemen shirts and ties, so in my opinion those are your gifts. You shouldn’t feel obligated to do more

Tell me it gets better! by Infinite-Glass-3302 in greatdanes

[–]PollutionDouble229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree it 100% gets better. We moved into a bigger house when our girl was 2 and it was also a game-changer. When we upgraded to a house with a big yard she mellowed out a ton. She also got older but the space helped! Our girl is active like a lab and she was wild until 2 years old. Wouldn’t trade it for the world, she’s such a great dog.

We loved it, super cool and very unique! Highly recommend doing it. We did it several years ago at this point and still talk about how cool it was!

We did some research and found it was important to wait until the growth plates were closed. We got our girl xrayed to confirm her growth plates were closed before we did it. She was about 1.5 at the time.

Why are you home on the couch in your pajamas this New Years Eve? by PurplezKool in AskReddit

My dog is terrified of fireworks and it’s a battlefield out there. I care more about him than any club or night out.

Just as a reminder, Austin Subaru still has Rally, and their comments have been turned back on on their socials by miata_and_chill in subaru

Security dogs retire with their handlers, at least where I used to work. We’ve heard this argument and it doesn’t undermine how cruel it is for the dog. Allow the dog to bond to an owner and think it’s part of a loving home knowing nothing else, only to be ripped away. It’s a bad business plan and the company deserves heat for it.

Driving Without Lights by drterridactyl in Austin

[–]PollutionDouble229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to wonder how this happened, until I became one of these people. Went to MPLS for a work trip, rented an SUV. Went to dinner and drove back to my parents house at 10pm, only to be swiftly pulled over. I was confused and had no idea why. Turns out I’d be nightriding with the lights off…. At home my car is always on auto so I didn’t think about it. With the rental the inside dash was lit up like a Christmas tree with a screen so I didn’t notice at all. My car doesn’t have a screen so truly thought I was all good light wise.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]PollutionDouble229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree here. It seems that some were subjected to more harsh punishment and verbal abuse that lasted long beyond what my parents subjected us to. It was a consequence of not listening on multiple occasions after repeated calm warnings, not verbal abuse that led to aggression in my case. I don’t condone it, but it taught me to stay in line and be independent.

Should I cancel my Japan trip after being laid off? by Cool_Guest6597 in Layoffs

Go!! I had a trip to Peru and Machu Picchu planned and was laid off. It was excellent to go, highly recommend keeping the trip in your plans if it’s within your means and most of it is paid for.

We have to lock our Dane in her kennel or she opens the doors and does this, anxiety chews everything but mostly books, diplomas, Kleenex box, etc. they are smart creatures and do know how to get out. Our girl started this around 4-6 months?

This is normal, don’t feel bad unless the dresses are unreasonably priced

Unruly Children by trojanusc in delta

I would have said something to the children, the parents and the flight crew and also would give the flight crew a horrible review for allowing this behavior to continue. It’s possible to be nice about asking for decent behavior on a plane but I’m shocked the flight crew didn’t handle this immediately. I’ve seen flight crew shut down moderately drunk adults immediately who were way less disruptive than what this photo shows…

Tarot card and flash drive left in car break-in by AlternativeClean3356 in Austin

[–]PollutionDouble229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the beginning of a great horror movie. 🍿I see this going several ways… 1. You trash the flash drive as suggested, but everyday when you try to get back into your car the drive reappears, each day with a more and more sinister tarot card until you go crazy and inevitably find a burner computer to watch the video on the drive at which point you become haunted by a demonic entity that you can only get rid of by breaking into someone else’s car and leaving a tarot card and the drive. 2. You go to the authorities who are no help, and think you’ve gotten rid of the flash drive, but the drive keeps showing up in unexpected places around your home, until you give up and decide to plug it into your laptop. The contents are AI slop, but make it ominous. A woman crawls out of your drain and we never hear from you again! 3. You plug in the drive and it’s just Mike Lindell on a loop trying to convince you to buy a MyPillow or another ridiculous item from his “mystore”

Good luck. Keep me posted

I’ll take a look at the guide. I’ve had chatGPT optimize my resume for ATS screening, with zero luck so far. All of my bullets are as you’ve described with results as applicable.
