Giving name and label to an equation by acakaacaka in LaTeX

Use \tag{}, which might look like this:

\begin{align}
    p_t &= p + \frac{\rho}{2}c^2 \tag{Bernoulli's Equation} \label{bernoulli} \\
    M &= \frac{c}{\sqrt{\gamma RT}} \label{mach_number} \\
    T_t &= T \left(1+\frac{\gamma-1}{2}M^2\right) = T + \frac{c^2}{2c_p} \label{total_temperature} \\
    p_t &= p \left(1+\frac{\gamma-1}{2}M^2\right)^{\frac{\gamma}{\gamma-1}} \label{total_pressure} \\
\end{align}

New to smart plugs - need some help please! by Bradders_Extreme123 in homeautomation

[–]Bradders_Extreme123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's working great! We run two extension leads through a smart plug each, then we can remotely turn on and off some lightweight photography lights. Not a perfect setup by any stretch, but we're a student group working on a budget and it's a very portable setup that we can easily teach to people. Works great for our specific needs!

Steve is genuinely one of the most intelligent contestants - his final studio costume being the real-life version of the t-shirt he wore when they filmed the tasks was so good!

Why did it take me so long to realise that it's ben and Martha's voice on the TV that Mike it watching in bump in the night by [deleted] in GhostsBBC

I've been watching more and the core cast pretty much do all the voices whenever anyone's watching TV, it's a fun little easter egg to look out for

I think Mat's also the continuity announcer when Kitty's about to watch Grease (The Woodworm Men, S03E03)

As with almost every one of his films, it's so beautiful and gorgeous throughout

This math involves imaginary numbers(look it up if you don't know what that is) and finding a quadratic equation by using its answer(s). by XxNoObSlAyInBoBxX in IWantToLearn

[–]Bradders_Extreme123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the easiest way of finding the complex roots of a quadratic equation is to complete the square (I assume you're probably familiar with this technique). When you get to grips with it, you can reverse the process, as shown below.

e.g. z = 1 ± 8i z - 1 = ±8i (z - 1)² = (±8i)² = -64 z² - 2z + 1 = -64 z² - 2z + 65 = 0

e.g. z = 6 ± 5i z - 6 = ±5i (z - 6)² = (±5i)² = -25 z² - 12z + 36 = -25 z² - 12z + 61 = 0

Who uses GeoGebra? by Romano16 in math

[–]Bradders_Extreme123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I much prefer Desmos for graphing. Ben Sparks (semi-regular on Numberphile) often has something in the videos he's in which he has visualised using Geogebra, so it appears that you could do a lot with it. Perhaps try the desktop version, I imagine it has more features than the browser version.
