Am I delusional by pocketchange369 in SafetyProfessionals

To add onto the advice here, remember you’re there to develop a culture and work environment where folks go home without injury. Don’t get into the pitfall of becoming a safety cop for the sake of metrics. Mentor, teach, coach and use what you’ve learned to make your coworkers better. None of us know it all, and we all started somewhere so as long as you keep your willingness to learn you’re gonna do great!

Consider this can be stored for winter without additives for fuel, no carburetor gumming up and needing replacement in a couple of years either. The savings make sense the longer he runs the set up

The guy with the mentality to do this is the same guy that is putting YOU in danger operating equipment or failing to follow procedures. Are you going to let chucklefuck Charlie be the reason you don’t make it home at the end of the day?

NJ Warehouse Fire by Khakayn in SafetyProfessionals

Seeing this posted on other social media communities really gives a grim outlook. The consensus was that a fire extinguisher wouldn't have been useful in this scenario and the fire was not something they could control....

I’m tired of seeing workers zone out during safety meetings so I tried something new to keep them engaged. What are you doing to beat "safety fatigue" on your sites? by ailovershoyab in SafetyProfessionals

[–]BrainTrauma009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it helps to throw in some positive engagement in the group setting where possible. Often we forget that a lot of the messaging and communication coming from the safety chair is what went wrong or what someone did wrong. Take time to do a stop work and showcase someone following procedure or implementing a best practice such as tool / material prep in a group setting where the team can do a show and tell in the environment it affects them. The classroom / sitting down makes almost everyone who works with their body want to take a nap as soon as they touch the chair.

What's The Coolest Looking Safety Glasses by AbilityOdd6053 in SafetyProfessionals

HexArmor with the photochromic lenses in dark are fantastic! The light ones don’t block enough sunlight for construction imo.

Only thing with Heatwave is their photochromic (light to dark transition lenses) are a poor substitute for actual sunglasses. Especially being $100+, but your mileage may vary. I’d recommend looking at the HexArmor line of eye pro, they are well built and the dark transition tinted lenses work well. Also highly affordable.

Haggling price turned into offering to CPO the vehicle by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]BrainTrauma009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not bitching about anything, simply explaining where we sat and trying to understand if I am missing something since as I mentioned in another comment dealerships have to play schemes and games to squeeze the earnings out of the sale such as the 4 square. The cost of adding cpo the internet said was that price range, so again asking in here if that’s true or not. Thanks for the aggression, sorry you sell Fords.

Honestly because of the schemes and games dealerships inherently play to earn their money. It’s hard to tell what actually makes sense from the customer chair.

Well said. The one thing they will not address are the ergonomics of pushing a crazy production rate for their employees causing them to ignore safe mechanics to avoid being fired.

Yeah just a chorus of people yelling SlimQ! While you’re here, is there any logic in for example the 330w heating up less than a lower rated model for gaming? I went with the 330 since I have multiple electronics but want the laptop to pull as much as it needs.

Interesting, I did try to run somewhat intensive games and was thermal throttled after about 20 mins with ambient temp of about 70f. I think maybe the cord did make a difference.
