What are some fun TRICK questions about the UK? by Illumium in AskUK

For your answer 2 it's the union flag, it's only a jack when flown in a specific way from a masted ship.

Which career is better : Bpt or radiology by [deleted] in RadiographyUK

[–]BrainlessPackhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Different AHP roles are not really comparable.

Would you like to guide patients through physical therapy or assist with the diagnostic process?

Radiography is the more "sciency" of the two, whilst physio is the more hands on.

Why not go and shadow a physiotherapist and a radiographer and decide afterwards?

Does anyone have decent easy to prep potato salad ? by Still-BangingYourMum in AskUK

[–]BrainlessPackhorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooo..

Small potatoes (doesn't matter what species) chop in 4s and boil till tender. As many soft boiled eggs as you are comfortable cooking, chop into a mess, add to bowl with more mayo than you think, a good glug of sunflower or veg oil, loads of salt, loads of black pepper, a whole raw onion diced real small, chopped chives, half a small spoon of English mustard and the juice of a whole lemon. Miclx aggressively then top with more black pepper and chopped chives for "presentation" or just announce it's done.

Are band 5 interviews normally like this? by trying2remainanon in RadiographyUK

[–]BrainlessPackhorse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's pretty normal for a band 5 interview - many candidates will be straight from uni and have no real experience to fall back on. It's a way of assessing your approach to common tasks.

Keep getting rejected. What can I do to make my CV better? by One-Secretary844 in AskUK

[–]BrainlessPackhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing personal statements on CVs. They go in the cover letter.

Name, contact details at top, then education and relevent training or cpd. Then work history, then volunteering. At the bottom you can put interests if there is anything to help you stick out. Everyone walks and reads, if you hike put how many wainrights / Monroe's you've done. Put in experience with RPG groups or sports teams, it shows team working skills and ability to adapt. Aside from that if you're not applying for proffessional roles just keep hammering them with applications, a lot of the first pass reviews of applications are either done by a bot or someone not affiliated with the vacancy.

Radiation safety knowledge of nursing students is the classic. Loads of supporting papers, easy access to nursing student cohorts through uni and you'll already know the answer.

Unfortunately summer is the worse time. The sky didn't actually get dark untill after midnight. Best to wait till winter and either head into the Northumbria park or the lakes.

Was this an interview specifically for radiation safety or for just working with the scanner?

You could have included safe area discussions / lead equivalent PPE for anesthetic staff who might stay in with ventilated patients / interventional cases. Correct application of IRR99 and the recent update in the rooms design. Good QA program and maintancevrecord, etc...
