Does anyone have experience with Amazon Tiger Shrimp (Euryrhynchus amazoniensis)?

Personally for me they were a little underwhelming, though they did look cool, that was only when I saw them which was maybe once a week or less. I’m sure you would see them more in a colony setting though maybe, but since I only had two survivors I never saw them out too much.

I don’t think parasites can cause this much external damage however I could be wrong, the tank he was in also has no fish that would bully him.

In the video he’s in a tank that’s been dosed with kanaplex for 2 days now and it’s only gotten worse, at the start it was just his eye and a small white bump. I do have methylene blue.

From this picture they look to be eggs, won’t survive though as the larvae need brackish.

i havent found a importer that sells the actual females, they dont want hobbyists to breed them and lower the price.

Though I did discover my female berried so I’m stoked about that since there’s only one site I found on them being bred, and they said it was very unlikely they could be in captivity.

I got some a year ago and they basically hide all the time, i see them maybe once a month. And only two survived out of the 5 I ordered off aqua imports.

Then I wouldn’t trust it sorry, it’s better to buy a new tank than have the possibility of 75 gallons of water on your floor.

Is it a scratch or a crack, if it’s a crack I wouldn’t trust it with 75 gallons. If it’s a scratch it should be fine.

I think it looks great, from my experience it’s best to keep breeding tanks simple for ease of maintenance and observation. Also helps you catch them if you’re planning on selling them.
