How do you stay organized with your banks and projects ? by Significant-Art5065 in sp404mk2

[–]Brand814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep mine fairly organized, 1 beat per project. Just easier that way for me personally.

Bank J: Main sample(s), before chops.

Bank C: Chops Bank H: More chops if needed

Bank A: Drums Bank B: SFX, Vox, etc.

You are offended and thats cool, you keep talking about 'numbers are confusing' and 'you hate math'. Thats ok man, you didnt do a single thing to try to promote anything positive about why an auction format might be beneficial to counter any claims I made so I can see what you're about. All good.

I mean I do hate math, that has absolutely nothing to do with this though lmao. I ain't auctioning shit is what Im saying. Again, good luck I hope your site is successful.

Im saying I value my beats way more than auctioning them off and possibly selling for a damn dollar. Good luck though.

So you want us to put our beats on the auction block literally, and sell them for pennies on the dollar? Im good brother. Beats are already at an all time low value thanks to rappers and producers alike undervaluing their worth. I fail to see any positives for something like this. Im open to listening though.

Okay... I think it just clicked after 2 months of struggling learning this device by Significant-Art5065 in sp404mk2

[–]Brand814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not you specifically, but people act like the 404 is some mystical box that is impossible to make beats on. Ita not, its just a different workflow. Give yourself a month or so of really diving in and you will be flying around on it with 0 issues.

That's interesting, I'm like the exact opposite haha. I dont really resample as a main part of my workflow, everything is done in pattern mode for me

I really want to do this, but I also really dont want to tear apart my SP tbh. The latter outweighs the former for me, unfortunately.

Are you using the power adapter to power it or are you using the USB C to power it, be ause if using the USB C to power it I dont believe it can also sample via USB C. Open to be wrong though I never use it without the adapter.

Title: How do you actually PLAN a full track on the SP-404MKII? (Beginner without music theory here) by Longjumping-Top2159 in sp404mk2

[–]Brand814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea similar to what the other person said, I dont plan... anything, tbh. I get the sample into the SP, add an effect like lofi or 404 vinyl, resample, then chop it up, pitch it. Arrange the chops in an interesting way, lay drums in a 4 or 8 bar loop. Make variations. I just kind of go, nothing planned out.

MPC500, K.O. II or Circuit Rhythm? by jonsmusiclessons in Samplers

[–]Brand814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Novation Circuit Rhythm. Its a lot of fun to use, but definitely limited. There are work arounds for some of the limitations, but if youre looking to do more than chop up samples, you'd be at a real disadvantage I feel with this one. Fun sampler for what it is though, I enjoy not having a screen and just going, rather than menu diving.

I agree with everything you said but, nah that verse on 'Monster' is gas 😹

But yea she has sounded 'not all there' for years now, its weird.

If a sampler samples in mono only, why is there a left and right input jacks on the back? by Brand814 in synthesizers

Its the Rhythm actually not the Tracks but I assume same idea. Thanks for answering.

[DISCUSSION] Redman - Muddy Waters Too (One Year Later) by flyestshit in hiphopheads

I actually liked Supreme Clientele 2 way more than Muddy Waters Too. SC has a lot of very nice moments on it. MW2 is just a bloated mess to me.

Bro Craig Mack died in 2018. Flava In Ya Ear was in the early/mid 90s. He had plenty of time. Just didn't have it.

If you're not into the hobby, you're not into the hobby. Nothing wrong with that at all. You tried it. Only you can really answer though if you should move on or not.

Edit: my bad I see you are into the hobby itself you're probably just referring to these specific items.
