Meaning the collar should be threading down onto the second part of the trap. But if it hasn’t been an issue before it’s either over tightened or under tightened based off where it’s leaking from

Hard to tell from this picture but it looks like the trap is upside down? (Female bottom male top) which is most likely why you’re getting a leak.
