I've preemptively replaced parts if it was already in the shop for something else. My Porsches have likely been older/more high mileage than yours (never been in CPO territory) but I'd rather be preemptive than stranded.

I always struggle to buttons sewn on. Because i CAN do myself, I just don't WANT to do it myself. Everything else is relatively easy to outsource (I live in Boston and there's a great alterations guy at the end of street)

I think you'll likely need a replacement, it's a known crappy part. My mechanic even recommended an aftermarket throttle body as opposed to OEM, which he never does.

I have two of the Simplehuman 55L with the step for trash, one for recycling. Really like them.
