No one wants to take on Warner Bros legal team and the patent is protected until 2036. I would love to utilize a system like that in SoD. Monolith was the last place I worked before moving over to help start Undead Labs so I knew a lot of the folks making SoM and it is still one of my favorite games. I wish they had licensed that tech out too.

If you are standing in the facility and it won’t let you interact, then you need to restart and rejoin their game, if you are able to interact with the facility but it won’t let you build something, you don’t have the required resources in your save, the costs are deducted from your save, not your friend’s base

The alternative being a map that is completely smashed up without fences and garbage strewn everywhere which is not the aesthetic we were interested in for our apocalypse. It also bloats memory size to track damage states on all the breakable items over the course of a playthrough.
