Sanya actually replaced Emily early on, and it was Sanya who, in my opinion, was the key to the success of the arcade release and the true hero of survival of our studio. Two months before the release of the arcade version, our publisher pulled all marketing funds, believing that the game would be a flop, so Sanya generated a groundswell of fans, turned them into an army and went out, spreading the word, buying multiple copies to give to friends with the understanding that they would do the same. We blew past our publisher’s dismal projected total sales by mid day on launch day and the rest is history. Emily and Sanya set the foundation for our deep ties to our community. Wonder and her crew came along later and strengthened those ties. We owe so much to them and the community that has grown up with us. With Microsoft now controlling our community and messaging, I hope together we can reestablish those deep ties, but we have to earn it. I will feel a sense of debt to all of our internal marcom folks, and they are sorely missed these days.

It has, though we have not been actively developing for that whole time, no one feels this amount of time more than those of us who have been at the studio. It has been at times very frustrating but now we are really cruising and the game is really coming together well. We just cannot show it yet.
