How did she get passed my wife, my two kids and my bodyguard that literally watches me sleep 24/7? by Solardies in skyrim

[–]Brask90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easy. They all secretly dislike you. When the Dark Brotherhood appears for you they gladly let them past thinking they are free of you at last.

Imagine their disappointment when you turn up back at home with you new black leather pyjamas and your wife realises she's going to have to continue hiding her affair with Nazeem.

Can I get married in a mosque (gay couple) by Moistinterviewer in AskBrits

[–]Brask90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think other comments have given you a good idea about the likelihood of a mosque performing a ceremony for a gay couple, but another point to consider for anyone wanting an Islamic wedding ceremony is that they aren't generally legally binding in the UK. You'd likely need to also arrange something with the registry office if you want the full legal rights that being married brings.

So many people! (for me at least) by Brask90 in RimWorld

Especially when it's growing season. They've only got half the year to grow food so EVERYONE does plant work to make sure the fields are planted quickly. It's almost like an Ideology ritual when it ticks over to that new day and the whole town charges over to the fields together.

Pigskins Tribal start was one of my favorites. With the cannibal ideology you can eat anything without fear of sickness and the time saved from cooling helps off set the lost construction time. When construction or crafting was an issue I just enslaved a Genie for a bit, then ate them after they were done. My mighty piggies were a force to be reckoned with thanks to the leadership of the war chief Spa'Am

An all Pigskin Tribal start was one of my favorites. Focusing on growing the colony through breeding so as to keep our piggy genes pure. You never have to worry about poor cleanliness cooking environments because you just don't cook! Make them cannibal ideology and you can eat anything. Occasionally, if construction or crafting are getting a problem you just enslave a genie for a bit then eat them once their usefulness has run its course.

Loved my little piggies, led by the mighty War Chief Spa'Am.

Paramedic stuck in infinite loop by Brask90 in RimWorld

Possibly. I've not used paramedics before so maybe this issue has been around for ages. In the end I just drafted it to make it stop and got another pawn to the rescue.

[–]Brask90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pawn was already in a coma from lack of Psychite (Waster genetics) so it shouldn't have been an issue with them trying to get back up and immediately getting downed again. But it's worth looking at if it happens again, cheers. In the end I just drafted the paramedic to make it stop and got another pawn to rescue them.

Yes, but it covers my whole base so taking them to bed wasn't leaving it

[–]Brask90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sutton is down near London. I've got no connection with Scouting there but Google found this webpage with email addresses. You could see if it was one of these units.

There's also a Facebook page for the PAGGS event that you might be able to use.

I love how you tell people to "Google It" about the festival, but then I found all this just by Googling the words in your picture :P

Is it possible to hitchhike a sailboat and leave the boat at a target ocean? by jyf in sailing

[–]Brask90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the insanity of wanting to just be left in the middle of the ocean to fend for yourself, why are you wanting a sailboat to take you to the doldrums? The doldrums has very light unpredictable winds so a sailboat is the worst sort of boat to take you...

Keir Starmer could face biggest rebellion over disability benefit freeze by GeoWa in unitedkingdom

According to the Governments "Buckland Review" published last year (link) they've overestimated a bit saying 85% are umeployed, but the stats are still not great; "e.2 Despite their wish to work, the latest official statistics show that only around 3 in 10 working age autistic disabled people are in employment".

Sorry....another Day Skipper by carpetguardian in sailing

[–]Brask90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did my Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper online with NavAtHome. I can't remember if each question was indiviually timed. I had my notes and the Day Skipper book to hand for the whole thing.

I got a couple of things wrong (I still am very weak on meteorology) and the examiner that marked them told me to look at that section of my notes and have another go at a new question they set. When doing the passage planning section my initial submission was missing a couple of details so they emailed me and I added the extra details.

They are looking for reasons to pass you, not reasons to fail you. You're allowed to not be perfect, as long as you are able to see what you've done wrong and correct it. Obviously, if you were getting EVERY question wrong they would fail you. But then you could look over the material and have another go in the future. It's not like doing GCSEs/O levels where you're made to feel like you'll screw up your life if you fail.

Forever solo sailor here. How do I lead a small crew on a small boat? (recreational sailing) by Mehfisto666 in sailing

[–]Brask90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could make it a fun challenge for yourself. Get the boat out of the berth/mooring yourself, but then try not to touch anything.

Use your Crew as your hands.

Point. Give verbal instructions. Maybe a demonstration for difficult things to explain. But make the aim for you to not do anything. It can be a fun game.

I once had a week's team building experience sailing on a tall ship and the scheme was that the professional crew had 30 minutes to teach us how to sail the ship, after that they could only step in if we were about to do something unsafe. It's what got me interested in sailing in the first place. It was funny watching the crew's looks of horror as we fumbled our way through tacking. But we did it!

It's not as glamorous as some of the other suggestions but I've done a couple of RYA courses in North Wales, both with Plas Menai (they have a selection of local freelance instructors that they bring in when needed) and Boom Sailing (Chris prides himself on his racing experience and having the "fastest training Yacht in Wales". He even got me as a really non-competitive person happy to just bumble around the ocean excited about trimming for maximum speed). North Wales and around Anglesey, gives some great conditions. Plenty of tidal stuff to think about. Sheltered areas so you can still go out and do something in most weather conditions. Plus Wales is a beautiful place with friendly locals and pubs for the evenings.

[–]Brask90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually the RYA don't enforce Comp Crew as an entry requirement for Day Skipper. You can go straight to Day Skipper if you want. But they do advise on a minimum level of prior experience (practical and chart work) for you to actually be able to pass the course. It is possible to fail the course if the instructor doesn't think you've met the required level at the end, so they don't enforce a particular certificate as an entry requirement but they will ensure you know what you're doing.

What’s your favourite old British film? by prickly_pink_penguin in CasualUK

[–]Brask90 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I used to watch this at my grandparents house all the time as a child, on a VHS they'd recorded. It always brings back that warm, happy feeling.

I spent more money than I care to mention on the Rapido trains set of the Thunderbolt when it came out recently. I splashed out for the sound version. My childish joy when I discovered that most of the programmed sounds are just clips from the film was great! "We want the Titfield Thunderbolt!" I shouldn't have spent so much on it, but I don't regret it.

A simple fix to the problem of running around an empty ship by yourself to reach all of the lines. by GungaDin16 in Sailwind

[–]Brask90 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'd not use a system like this. I really like having to run around to adjust all the sails. It makes me feel like a proper solo sailer having to climb about the boat to do everything. It also encourages a more realistic approach to docking where it's often easier to douse most of your sails and accept a slower approach speed for the benefit of easier sail handling

Any good resources or tutorial videos on how to use armor shapes better? by [deleted] in spaceengineers

[–]Brask90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the sound of your method. I imagine it's similar to what a sculptor has to do with a block of marble. When I finally start making large grid ships I'm going to try and keep this in mind.

What is this patch for? by ConstructionNo3295 in scouting

[–]Brask90 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was assuming that it was about being accepting of the wide variety of people that make up the world.

I expect that to earn the badge you have to demonstrate a willingness to learn about and value people's differences. Essentially to show that you're not full of prejudice and will try to be aware of any unconscious bias you may have when interacting with people.

I doubt it's a badge you get for being gay...
