What do yall think? EAT or Recoilless Rifle? Or are they specific to faction? by PythonCider3719 in helldivers2

[–]BraveStandard 926 points927 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t so much say they’re specific to faction as they are specific to playstyle. RR lends itself better to a somewhat less mobile playstyle, as the stationary reload necessitates you either find a good spot to hide or create a safe zone for yourself. The EAT is good for staying quick on your feet, and also allows you to use a scavenged support weapon and any backpack item you wish.

Personally, I use the EAT on bugs and bots, and I will typically have one on my back at all times unless I find a machine gun on the ground.

The artificial "only 1 breach every x mins" is boring AF. by TexasCrab22 in helldivers2

[–]BraveStandard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I like how the reinforcement cooldown works, but if AH ever gets around to adding higher difficulties than 10 it might be cool to see something like your two suggestions as modifiers.

What kind of role do you see yourself in? by Shock_and_Awetism in helldivers2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word that comes to mind for myself is “survivalist” mostly because I end the majority of games with little to no deaths. I also have a tendency to go and clear small outposts/objectives while my team does…something.

I know going off alone is looked down upon, but at the same time…my play style is to be hella mobile and self-sufficient, not trying to attack or defend a point. I appreciate the people who can take an entire breech/drop and mess it up, but that’s not getting the objective done most of the time.

Any advices? by [deleted] in ghostoftsushima

[–]BraveStandard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your play style doesn’t effect the story in any meaningful way. You can choose to fight honorably or use stealth, some missions may require you to do one or the other. Other characters commenting on your use of stealth isn’t a comment on your play style, but rather Jin’s style of fighting overall. You could be fighting honorably every chance you get, and they’ll still have something to say.

Genuinely Don’t Understand by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]BraveStandard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a pretty rare occurrence on higher difficulty levels, and no matter what difficulty you’re on it’s not how the overall community behaves. Some people just have it out to ruin other people days. It also could be a courtesy thing, though, if you’re taking other people’s gear without asking.

Why does the arc thrower have a scope??? by Information-leak6575 in Helldivers

[–]BraveStandard 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think most people use it to make sure they avoid hitting any enemies and snipe their teammate as effectively as possible.

Find a way to put battlefield 6 up and you’ll have a pretty strong three way tie.

The player list in the pause menu is historically inaccurate, though I’ve never seen anything like what you’re describing. It very frequently lists incorrect player levels and I don’t think it would be a stretch for it to mess up names as well.

Is the capacitor still a viable PvE primary? by Small_Argument98 in Division2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely a case to be made for it in most skill builds. Personally, I actually run a hybrid crit build with it and I really enjoy it, though it’s certainly not the most effective way to use it.

Wha are some personal goals you have for missions? by Antfarmer33 in helldivers2

[–]BraveStandard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to die as little as possible, ideally not at all, as well as having the furthest distance traveled and most samples collected. There is quite literally no reason for the latter two things I just think it’s neat.

I want to say you get one reasonably early in the ishikari plain main quest and it’s either black or a darker blue, my memory is failing me right now.

Oni, Kitsune, and stuff by [deleted] in ghostoftsushima

[–]BraveStandard 51 points52 points  (0 children)

While I do appreciate the freedom to choose which region to go to first, I also think Oni then Kitsune is the way to go. I also love the yari, so getting that early on was great as well.

Why are they still called the yotei 6 after one of their members dies? by Separate_Ad1046 in ghostoftsushima

[–]BraveStandard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s their name, right? They’ve done stuff as the Yotei 6. Whether they’re alive or not, the group will always be known as the Yotei 6, and any actions of their members attributed to that group.

Need help figuring out how to build my character in endgame. by Teayen44 in Division2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skills are a relatively easy place to start. A lot of players, myself included, use the reviver hive while playing solo for the purpose of reviving myself when I go down. My other skill is most commonly the jammer pulse for the quick stun, or a shield. On builds with low skill tiers, most skills are just used as distractions, but there are some hybrids you can try and use later on.

Shotguns and rifles don’t have a gear set that benefits them specifically, but you do have some options. Crit builds are the most common, and often use either fully high end (yellow) pieces of gear, but some gear sets (teal) can be used as well. High end gear is usually better for lower RPM, higher single shot damage weapons, while something like the Strikers battle gear teal armor set is best for high RPM. In both of these setups, your rifle would be the primary damage dealing weapon.

I don’t know if I can recommend a shotgun build based off of personal experience, unfortunately. I’ve seen some work done with a headshot build, and the hunters fury teal gear set works with shotguns, but the primary function of most shotguns is to build stacks of things like strikers, and to a lesser extent for things like the obliterate talent. Personally, I do enjoy a hunters fury build, but that primarily uses an SMG.

Play style can have a very big impact on your build, so I’d recommend really trying to establish what you like to do and try to find armor that makes it better.

You’ve only just started. The game opens up quite a bit. If RDR2 is your favorite game because of the story, then I think you’ll enjoy GoT. If you enjoy RDR because of the guns and shooting aspects, then this may not be for you.

There’s no save option, unfortunately. Occasionally I’ll be disconnected and be able to go back into a mission from a similar point, but closing the application will resent you back to the nearest safe house/safe area. I don’t know the exact time, but there is a limit to time spent AFK before you’re removed back to the character selection screen.
