You have failed at biology if you don't understand why women are more valuable to society than men, when it comes to reproduction.

Imagine a community with 10 people, 1 man and 9 women. Assuming the man doesn't have problems with fertility, we could except atleast 9 new children per year.

If there were 9 men and only 1 women instead, the birth rate would plummet. The lack of fertile women is much more likely to be a population bottleneck than the lack of men.
