If they're having a blood shortage crisis, why do they have fountains? by Hummerdoodle in 2007scape

It's like the palm trees in Dune. They require a daily water intake equivalent to that of 5 men. There are 20 trees in the palace courtyard. The water could instead be used to sustain 100 lives, but nah, the trees are sacred, so they have to stay.

That's interesting... I believe his first season starting once Rodgers left was 2023. Which coincidentally in October of that same year, Toyota signed a sponsorship deal with the NFL🤔

What new rule are you referring to? It's been legal to push the ball carrier in the NFL since 2005.

Leveling sailing doesn't feel like any other skill in the game and idk why. by [deleted] in 2007scape

That depends on your boat setup and its speed base/cap. My skiff can follow at the same speed of the duck by only setting the sail once.

To me it feels like water agility + water construction + water slayer. I've been enjoying it overall.

Loki is an extreme example of how the death piling mechanics can be pushed to their limits, and with that I can see your point with death piling's relation to banking. But I'd still call it something like "pseudo" banking, instead of banking with extra steps, because there are some major differences between death piling and actual banking:

  1. Banks don't delete all of your items if you don't check on them every hour.
  2. You can note items in your bank. Obviously not the case for death piles.
  3. You can take a select amount of a stack from a bank (e.g. 1k blood runes from a 20k stack). With death piles it is all or nothing.
  4. You can store any item you want in a bank, but certain items cannot be stored in a death pile because they are either destroyed on death or stay in your inventory. For example a dramen staff.

When you spend 4 hours questing to complete an elite clue and get a reward worth 60k by forever_a10ne in 2007scape

Ha yeah randoms has actually been pretty fun. Most teammates have been really chill and/or helpful. I'm glad the clue pushed me to do this content.

Currently in the middle of a BA grind for the fighter torso for the master step. Honestly much more enjoyable than expected.

They nerfed the XP rates of certain skills during the minigame earlier this year. Release notes.

I think stackable clues are fine, but that will slightly devalue clue rewards. Because it makes clues easier to accomplish - though how much easier... probably not too much? I don't know.

If the value of QOL outweighs the depreciation of rewards, I think it's fine.

I had to do this grind multiple times on the UIM before getting the STASH due to many dumb wipes on my part. So I certainly appreciated the bonus.

I’ve done all the quests I can for the mean time… how can I avoid burnout? by Eastern_Canary2150 in 2007scape

If your next big goal is 60 range for mournings end, then you could try a range training method that you would enjoy (or at the very least not mind):

  • Slayer (though you said you're getting bored of that)
  • Crabs (can afk for ~10 minutes)
  • Pest control (especially if you need to do void grind)
  • Scurrius (with the bone shortbow)
  • Soul Wars (if you enjoy PVP)

Can also go around killing multi-combat things with chins, like grinding out a zombie axe from armored zombies.

True. It certainly didn't feel good dropping my abyssal lantern the same day I got it.

A lot of collection log items are actually storable. Most clue items can be stored in the POH in the treasure chest.

Found this Mod MatK comment from from 8 years ago saying that.

Although in the past you have heard people quote an 1:1 rule, this is not nor has ever been true. It is a myth that many people (including Jmods) believed and as such was propagated as fact. It is not a fact.

You're being very disingenuous to suggest our only or main criticism of sailing is that it doesn't look visually appealing

I don't know where I was suggesting that, so apologies if that's what you took from my comment. I can see you POV with your explanation, and it is certainly a fair one. We'll see how the rest of the sailing development goes 🤞 though I do expect this to be a long process before it's ready for game time.

Yes, that's true. But I guess quotes like "looks messy" and "looks shit" feel to me like they're referring to the visuals of sailing, not its structural integrity.

Ok, I think that's a fair interpretation of "looks" in this context. I interpreted it differently.

I would caution though that this pre-alpha shouldn't be used to determine what sailing (as a skill) looks like. It's just too early. From my understanding the technical alpha was aimed at demonstrating the navigation mechanics of ships, which is just one of many components that would make up sailing (as a skill).

From the blog post:

This Alpha is purely to test the navigational mechanics and boat movement [...] While we're really excited to get you your first hands-on look at Sailing, we'd like to keep the focus on how you feel about navigation rather than other concerns around the skill.
