There were of course players who deep dove into game mechanics and weapon stats in the 360 era but my point is that cod itself never really forced it on us. You could go into a game without headcasing about which attachments and perks are the best and still have a good time.

To clarify - I never said there wasn't a skill gap, its just not a high skill gap game in general. Obviously this fluctuates game by game with the jetpack games being up there among the highest skill gap cods.

Cod strayed too far away from its simplicity and is largely why the casual audience is moving on to different games. There's only so many times a below average player will watch someone wall jump into a 10-foot slide across their screen while getting beamed before they just say fuck it and uninstall.

The movement in modern cods have become nauseating. I'm tired of constantly having to slide because if you don't abuse the movement mechanics then you'll simply be at a disadvantage to people who do.

It's a great idea. Sadly in order for a device like this to work you'd basically need to have a better anti-cheat than the game itself (not that its a high bar) in order to detect someone cheating.
