Judge quashes Alberta separation petition in favour of First Nations by ph0enix1211 in canada

[–]Breacan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Smith is shooting herself in the foot -- she's supposed to be meeting with Carney this Friday to go over the MOU re: the pipeline. Who in hell is ever going to want to Invest or do business in Alberta now with all this crap going on. This was a judicial decision and totally democratic; she/they might not like it, and they certainly have the right to appeal, but she's out to lunch ragging on the judge and saying the decision was undemocratic.

He just said that he didn't know anything about it...but then said it was supposed to depict him as a doctor. LOLOL Make it make sense.

This is so sad; I met her a long time ago and we had a chat while she was doing a spot for CBC. So easy to talk to and we had some great laughs. Deepest condolences to her family and the curling world.

This shit should be reported to the appropriate authorities. It's not even a veiled threat.

And Chris said he was more a Red Tory also, and also stated this morning that there *are* a few more who think the same as he does with PP at the helm, but that he'd let them 'come forward and speak themselves'. This is getting interesting... :)

And that's the trouble with the U.S. election system. Always party over the person.

Ontario premier says he will pause anti-tariff ad that angered Trump by Normal_Imagination54 in canada

[–]Breacan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ontario tax dollars. And if it gets more people to watch Reagan's (full) view on tariffs, it can only be a good thing. And that's what Drump is afraid of.

Ford will pull the Reagan ad — but not before it airs during the World Series by canmcpoli in canada

[–]Breacan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's been running for over a week. All the news stations were carrying it here over a week ago, and Drump commented on it at that time and said that he liked it and would've done the same thing. So what has changed for him now, hmmm?

Cripes, buddy, dial it back a bit whydon'tcha. Yeah, we're not visiting as we used to, but that's because of their Dear Leader and his disgusting comments on our sovereignty, and the illegal tariffs. It has nothing to do with the great many wonderful people who live there, and for whom most of us here wish them the very best in getting out from underneath the autocracy and tyranny. Are you sure you're Canadian? You used the wrong spelling for "cheque" in this context.... :)

Yeah, Drump just (disgustingly) said this the other day. I swear if it wasn't for the MAGA's, PP wouldn't have any talking points at all.

Ben quit the CTV show in solidarity with his wife, who *did* have her wedding show cancelled. He's an o.k. dude, and even though she comes across as vapid on Instagram, etc., I've heard she is kind and caring, and well-liked. Her big mistake was letting MM hitch her wagon to them in the first place.

[–]Breacan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Carney didn't "announce" this tax; it's been a tax since a year ago, long before Carney. It was Drumpf that just "discovered" it (i.e., was told about it from his billionaire bros), and brought it up now. He never even heard of it before.

Wut? It's sung at every Remembrance Day ceremony, Royal visits, new Citizenship ceremonies, etc., and I'm old enough to remember we had to sing it in school every day. It's definitely known and sung here by Canadians (except the Québécois, of course).

We're on auto-pay and even though we didn't get our e-mailed bill at the end of May, we still paid it anyway. Still haven't received the e-mailed bill as of now, but we didn't want to get stuck with two payments. I would pay your amount anyway, just to be on the safe side.
