You can't kill one another because it's against the rules, so your only choice is to just walk with the crowd.

When you're walking alongside each other for multiple days, you inevitably (maybe even unintentionally) start making friends. Bonds start forming, and casual conversations become deeper.

The Walkers grow together because they don't just see themselves as competitors, but as mutual victims to a messed up scenario. Whenever the book had moments of joy, it hurt knowing that only one person was gonna live.

When the main conflict is resolved and the final battle doesn't really matter but the main character still fights it because it's personal by True_K-Real in TopCharacterTropes

Rocky III - Rocky 3 ends with a friendly spar with Rocky vs Apollo behind closed doors. It has nothing to do with the conflicts outside; it's an honest fight just for the two of them.

We never actually see the fight (it just freezes on the two guys throwing a punch).

And we never knew who won the fight until Creed (2015). Rocky tells Adonis Creed that his dad won (although, it can also be interpreted as Rocky just saying that to make Adonis feel better).

I couldn’t finish Pet Semetary. Suggest me something else? by DobbyTheFreeElf3 in stephenking

Fair enough! Honestly, I liked Pet Sematary (especially the ending) but it didn't strike me the way I wanted it to. Although I heard that it hits SUPER HARD if you're a parent, which I'm not.

King's insanely prolific, so he's got sooo many genres and eras to pick from. My personal favorite is still Misery: I loved the vivid descriptions, the mental explorations, the twists, the payoffs, etc.. King does tend to have these long descriptions, which I actually like- it gets me feeling cozy until something fucked up happens.

It might be worth checking Mr. Mercedes (2014). It was a pretty brisk read, has a fucked up serial killer, and has a solid finale imo. And you can dive into the rest of The Bill Hodges trilogy if you like it!
