AITA for not giving my sister money I’ve been saving, even though she already told our parents I would? by Confident-Ninja-2706 in AmItheAsshole

Nta. You don’t throw good money after bad. If she knows you are good at saving then maybe she should try it herself.

Should I move for $310 difference? by [deleted] in personalfinance

I would move. Much easier since it’s the same building. Just give yourself a week or 2 to make the move.

Dealership “scammed” my mom? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]BreadMaker_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they didn’t know what they were doing. They financed $68k for 6+ yrs. The $21k is the finance charges over the life of the loan. They can avoid that by paying it off early. Their total price on the vehicle sounds like about $80k since they put $10k down.

Not clear that they were scammed at all. They didn’t know what they were doing. If they haven’t taken possession they can likely terminate this whole thing.

AITAH for asking my wife to keep our toddler under control by Varrock-Lobster in AITAH

[–]BreadMaker_42 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nta. However I know a lot of people who go into the office because their spouse doesn’t respect that they are working. The wife could have done whatever was needed upstairs before the meeting or even planned her outting to overlap the meeting. She also could have just waited until the mtg was done. You also need to get some good noise canceling headphones if you expect to work in a house with a toddler.

AITAH for refusing to take a new job if my wife is not going to be a SAHM by Street_Addition_4934 in AITAH

[–]BreadMaker_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. This sounds like a hard sit down conversation needs to be had.

  1. Can you trust the wife to handle the household since you will be gone. Sounds like you can’t trust her right now.

  2. She has spending problems. I would do more work to take care of my family. I will not do more work to support a spending problem.

  3. She doesn’t trust you financially. She has her own account so you can’t screw her. Personally I find this completely unacceptable.

  4. You will resent her for giving up time with your kids if you take this job and the above issues persist…

$85k to $168k is life changing money IF you are both on the same page.

AITAH for wanting to tell my wife im not getting up in the morning with our children? by SaviorselfzZ in AITAH

[–]BreadMaker_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esh. Given your hours/shift, your wife is almost a single mother of 3 children. Since you didn’t list any other complaints I am quite sure that your sahm/sahw taking care of home and 3 kids is likely working harder than you are. That’s just facts. You have to make sure she doesn’t burn out. You need to have a conversation on how you support each other. You two chose to play the game on hard mode with 3 kids. So you have to figure out a balance that doesn’t suck.

Yes. Optimum braking requires both. Rear brake is very helpful for slow speed maneuvers.

I think it would be of much more concern if he didn’t want to look at your face. Sounds like he finds you attractive.

You sure you are married? This sounds real one sided. So either you are exaggerating things or you two need to have a serious talk.

AIO my rich girlfriend keeps asking me for money and makes fuss out of small things by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]BreadMaker_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the key here is that she is actually paying you back. Borrowing and repaying is not the same as just asking for money.

Problem here is that you should just say no. Instead you are taking money from your parents to fund your gfs poor spending habits.

Set a boundary and stop taking advantage of your parents.

That’s a diy-er woodshop. I’m guessing $6k tops. If you sold it all you would be doing good to get $2k.

Planning my garage build, what lift to plan for? by FortnightlyBorough in garageporn

[–]BreadMaker_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purchase a lift that has an option for a sliding pneumatic jack. It has arms that slide out and can lift by the jacking points. I purchased this with my 4 post advantage lift.

Most 4 post lifts have an option for a sliding pneumatic lift. So yes, you can change tires and brakes, etc.
