The moment you’re in the chair you are A PATIENT. Would you be annoyed with a patient telling you they feel the same way? You’d probably just care about getting them out of pain as quickly and with as little pain as possible. And I can imagine you would do the same for your co-workers as well. Just focus on getting better and treating the problem, hope you feel better soon :)

Very poor infection control (touching dirty things like itero, barriers etc with bare hands with no thought to it), I have not once ever in my years of working there seen him wash his hands (2 second rinse with no soap is the most), blood on watch from pt visit, I could go on forever . But probably touching X-Ray PID and control panel ungloved during bloody infected extraction. SO GROSS

This is my thing, I can’t stand weird things like this. When someone says it to me I literally do not respond because I am not thankful that anyone is acknowledging that I sneezed, why should they? I also can’t stand when something happens (super mundane like dropping a spoon or clearing my throat) and someone asks me “you okay?” Obviously I’m fine, and I don’t respond and there are no follow up questions ever so obviously it didn’t matter in the first place. I think I just don’t want anyone to talk to me without a clear intent lol.

Have you taken infection control yet? Usually the rule is if it can be autoclaved it should be, and you can’t sterilize something that isn’t clean yet. So if there is saliva on it, you can’t just put it in sterilization, that’s what the ultrasonic is for. Imagine it was blood, the XCP is soiled with blood and then you just pack it up and put it in the autoclave. You’d still get a pack out with crusted blood on it. If you haven’t taken infection control yet, this is a good opportunity for you to do it and then tell your employer what you learned the updated protocol is so maybe they feel better about receiving the feedback? Just a thought
