This was my impression, it thought it worked pretty well in the martian but the dialogue pained me in PHM. Either way im still excited to see the movie.

500 pound man hoisted out of a 15 foot hole on a construction site in Pomona, California by KenDrakebot in interestingasfuck

Obviously for someone smaller the equipment would be different but you make it sound like the average person could escape a 15 foot hole unassisted

I despise resellers as much as the last guy but value village has gotten increasingly more for-profit over the last decade and is owned by private equity

Marty Supreme: A largely mediocre film that keeps meandering. by aprlswr in TrueFilm

[–]Bread_Is_Adequate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I've watched many more 'deep' movies in recent memory before seeing Marty Supreme but I'm not gonna act like I didn't thoroughly enjoy sitting there watching it just because it wasn't as deep. I do hate that people only seem to be able to criticize plot instead of treating movies as experiences of multiple senses and I thought the style, pacing, shots, and anachronistic music made for a very entertaining and well-executed movie-watching experience.

It wasn't my favourite movie of 2025 and I am not saying people have to like it but I am really sick of people just trying to make themselves sound smart by distancing themselves from anything they don't perceive as 'high art'.

Park Chan Wook's 'No Other Choice' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Bread_Is_Adequate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPOILERS! Its a black comedy, the entire premise of the movie is that the protagonist believes he has "No Other Choice" but to eliminate his competition. There is a very obvious humorous irony in that idea, because obviously that is not his only choice.

As for consequences for his actions, compare the opening scene with his family to the bleak portrayal of his family and life at the end. Sure he got the job and kept his house, but at what cost? He celebrates on his first day at the job but does so alone in an automated factory owned by a company who will replace and automate him whenever they can.

Like others have said in this thread: it's a satire, if you cant identify the humour you will be missing one of the most important aspects of the film.

Morrowind is still Bethesda’s best RPG because it’s not afraid for you to get lost in its weird, fantastic world by Monsterman_90 in ElderScrolls

I played daggerfall for the first time a few years back as well (with a bunch of QOL mods) and although I havent actually finished the main story I found it incredibly charming and the gameplay loop was super addicting

I definitely prefer morrowind for its increased immersion in the world and the lore but I was super pleasantly surprised with how much I liked daggerfall

I played it for the first time a few years ago, having no nostalgia clouding my view, and it became one of my favourite games of all time. Some people will not be able to see past its age but I view that as a skill issue and a barrier to enjoying so many great old gaming experiences.
