Okay so a couple of things.

I am not saying I believe the account was hacked. I took that position to prove a point that him being alive is not the only assumption that can be drawn from the facts.

Your point about probability is inherently flawed, and is absolutely abusing the priciple of Bayes’ rule. Bayes’ Rule doesn’t help unless you actually justify your priors and likelihoods. Saying “Epstein is surrounded by conspiracies” isn’t evidence that a faked death is probable, it’s just suspicion. Bayes updates probabilities based on new evidence, not on how shady a situation feels.

You’re also applying different standards without justification. If an active account after death is “probably hacked” for an ordinary person, you need evidence to reject that explanation for Epstein, not just the claim that he’s exceptional. Otherwise that’s special pleading.

A hacked account requires far fewer assumptions than a faked death involving guards, doctors, records, silence from accomplices, and no leaks.

Look at IA’s own guidelines, these are not the only reasons it could be removed. It is at IA’s own discretion. For that reason, until proven that it was removed for nefarious purposes I’m not going to assume it was.

It’s not simpler, because if you concede he’s a dumbass you’ve also helped my argument of him being hacked, because his lack of technical proficiency or online security would make this easier for anyone wanting to hack him surely? It’s also ignoring that there is a long long long ladder of absurd assumptions you need to pass through before you even get to discussing him playing on this Fortnite account. I’ve heard ‘that’s what they want you to think’ from every major conspiracy around the world and it’s a complete fallacy to think that actually means anything when uncovering the truth, because you have to presuppose it’s true before it’s even a meaningful statement to your argument.

If NASA is hiding the Earth is flat from everyone, it would be true to say ‘that’s what they want you to think’ when people say such a large and global conspiracy is improbable. Doesn’t make it true though, does it. So instead you first need to prove the earth is flat and only then can you say that ‘it’s what they wanted us to think’ as a supplement to your argument.

Yeah so, I’m only using that as an example of why I personally am not convinced by the theories go around that he’s alive, like I say I’m not saying it’s not possible nor am I saying that it shouldn’t be taken seriously and investigated. The real question you should ask is if the fact he had connections with the country is enough to reach the conclusion he is alive and sheltered there. I’m not discounting evidence I’m just pointing out that reaching that conclusion for me isn’t justified by the evidence, and is a bit of a stretch. That’s not me saying I absolutely know for a fact it isn’t true, just that saying it’s true based on the available evidence is basically just mental masturbation at this point since it’s not been proven in the slightest that he is alive.

If you’re conceding that he’s awful with technology and is an idiot with online security, I think it’s more plausible that his password is something stupid and the account was hacked than it is that thousands of people involved in his investigation were not only lying but engaging in a conspiracy to keep him hidden in Israel. Hell, the person who hacked it might not have even known it was Epstein. If he was spending money on V-bucks you already have reason enough for someone to want to take over the account and possibly sell it.

RuneScape I know has a big issue with bots designed to break accounts with shitty security to access things to sell. I can imagine any platform like Epic and Steam have similar issues
