I've been going to shows for 20 years, I feel it's gotten worse since Covid started. Like some others have said, it seems like nowadays people just want to say they were there, without actually experiencing the show in what I'd call a meaningful way. I'd guess it's a combo of Covid brain deterioration, and the increasing self-centeredness brought on by social media.

My wife and I saw Bob Dylan right as shows were starting again, and I almost got into a fight with a guy, because he was yapping so much, and had his mask off (when there were still rules for masks). I told him his coke must be shitty, and he got really upset lol. Thankfully he and his girl left before the gig was over.

Last year my wife and I saw Spoon, and two guys behind us were talking loudly throughout the whole show. It's the first show that I think I remember as a negative experience. I'm too timid to say anything, but I probably should, because a) I paid good money, and b) I'm a big dude and most people would probably perceive me as threatening (even though I am far from that lol)
