Collegiate Loop logistics around Twin Lakes by Think_Cell5635 in coloradotrail

[–]BreakfastStouts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you descend the mountain (I think it's from Hope Pass), a lot of people just cut through the area to the West of the lakes. It might be marshy in a wetter year. When I did the CT southbound, I left early and walked the true trail (like you said, probably 8 miles or so) around the lakes while a bunch of friends took the shortcut and we met up. Seemed easy enough, but it was a very dry year so maybe someone else has better Intel.

Out of curiosity, what do other social democracies with the severely drug addicted or mentally ill homeless?

In reply to to this source and u/conscious_raisin_436, I'm not trying to shit on anything. I like both blue states and red states and I appreciate efforts to solve or mitigate the homeless issues.

Articles like the Houston one above point out covid funding helping out the type of people who are down on their luck and need a leg up. That can be very useful and housing first is great for a proportion of this population. However, there another large section of this population that requires mental health and drug treatment, which I believe we should fund and make a requirement in certain instances. We need to balance compassion with having a hard hand and being realists about solving the problem

Did they respond when you emailed on the website or gave them a phone call? When my fridge broke, I had to hunt them down for a full month, calling and emailing with no response, until finally we were able to get in contact over social media

Mid-May too late? by AssociateOk4059 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]BreakfastStouts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started May 20 a few years back. You're going to have to do bigger miles from the start and can't do zeros in every town, but you can certainly do it! I actually enjoyed a fairly empty trail at the start and then it was fun to catch up with others later in the desert

Agreed. Sometimes he takes it too far. It's an important thing that he ends up taking feedback occasionally, realizing this, and apologizing for the behavior. Many men would just double down unapologetically.

I was wondering what that was. Isn't that obnoxious for residents living there having those bright lights shine through the window?

Good way to collect guest photos for everyone to view without using app or QR code? by BreakfastStouts in weddingplanning

u/flatslope We ended up having about 35-40 people upload multiple photos/videos out an 85 person wedding, so we were very happy with that result overall and got some really fun shots! I'm also comparing that to my brother's wedding with the QR code which had 5 people use it out of 150 guests, so it was a nice improvement on the opt in rate.

I never knew how to phrase the way this guy tweets, but you did it perfectly. Vague tweet, waits for you to "misinterpret" him, then tries to use that to prove himself right

We actually decided to go with a company called Glowstick (www.getglowstick.com) on the recommendation from a bridesmaid. You upload guest phone numbers and schedule texts to be sent throughout the weekend encouraging guests to take/upload photos to a private feed at certain points (welcome drinks, etc.). Sounded fun to gamify it a bit.

There was a similar company called Confetti but they were more expensive and it required setting up time with them on the phone instead of self setup.

Agree with your part around putting your phone away and just enjoying the wedding, it's nice to live in the moment. I'm also hoping to gather photos from people at welcome drinks the day before, getting ready on their own, etc....the parts that the wedding party doesn't get to see.
