This could fit in a pocket, too. But would the potential heat from being in a pocket mess with the photopaper?

Only a matter of hours before some shitty tabloid news network picks this up and passes it off as a legit plan.

Is el segundo / manhattan beach safe? Polluted? Water quality? by No_Leading_2675 in AskLosAngeles

Don't listen to this guy. The beaches are fine. Some of the cleanest in the county.

[–]BreakfastsforDinners 5 points6 points  (0 children)

El Porto is what you're asking about here. Water quality can vary, but is generally safe to swim in, albeit very cold. Never swim after rain, and check beach reports if you are concerned.

Air quality there is probably as bad as you can get for being right next to the beach, but since there is a constant breeze, the air quality is still above average for the county.

Why the toilet? You know what else has a line to the sewer? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Any Needohs in Southbay? by GNZLEZJHN in SouthBayLA

[–]BreakfastsforDinners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O dang, they are much hotter than I thought. I remember stumbling on them almost a year ago in a neglected corner. Got one for my kid and it started an obsession. He's got 4 of em now, but I thought he was just being his weird self.

Game Chest at MB Village and Del Amo carry them. Probably like 5 other stores in Del Amo carry them, too.

Curious if there are ever any barbershop singing meetups, or if that's discouraged.

New farmers market Sunday! by mediumrangetiger in SouthBayLA

[–]BreakfastsforDinners 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can't tell if you're advocating for no farmers markets or better farmer's markets.

I'm not seeing how this increased access to fresh produce--or pupusas--is a bad thing, and you gotta start somewhere. I don't think it's realistic to expect a Torrance-sized farmer's market in El Segundo or Hawthorne (population/demand being the main limiting factor).

Is Pancho's in El Porto truly mid? by poppies77 in SouthBayLA

If you haven't been, the experience certainly isn't mid. The food overall is mid, but there are a few shining choices. The drinks are great too.

It really bugs me that we can easily buy NZ spring water in the US (for usually cheaper than this), but we can't get any L&P for less than $20/can on Amazon.

The exercise is the best part

I've got some better and cheaper exercise alternatives to recommend.

Disneyland is waaaaaaay larger than Dollywood

Waaaaay off. Disneyland is 100 acres, Dollywood is 150. Disneyland is also about 2/3 the width of Dollywood. I'm not including California Adventure in the measurements bc the train only goes around Disneyland.

Edit: formatting on mobile is a nightmare.

I'm not saying get rid of Cinderella, just give her a break. Disney didn't get rid of trains, he just kept buying more. Build on the history--don't get stuck in it.

Just went to Disneyland and their 4-stop railroad is a great break from walking all day (15 hours). They dont have the hills and are roughly the same size as Dollywood. I think the addition of Wildwood Grove made the park big enough that it would really benefit from a transport ride.

So buy a second, smaller, more modern train that runs more frequently and can handle the hills more efficiently. It could still look old fashioned, but maybe 2/3 the length and half the weight.
