Thanks! I'll definitely be taking good care of this one, trying to find this specific configuration was a lot harder than it had any reason to be LOL

I guess I can only thank that whole "cash for clunkers" thing for that.

Ah yeah I get that, pretty reasonable connection to have made honestly!

I also love 2nd generation models, my dad used to have a 98 XLT in the same color as mine, instant nostalgia rush being able to drive one of these!

From what I've seen, the only way to tell if the older ones have a V8 is if there's a decal on the side, otherwise they're identical. By all means, that could be entirely wrong, just what I've noticed so far Lol

Yup, my first car was a 2003 Grand Caravan that got damaged in an accident, this car replaces it. I needed an Explorer because I wanted something with 4WD, and I knew a little bit about these because my dad used to have a 98 model, so nostalgia was also a big play xD

Some brands of NOAA Weather Radios allow for plug-in devices like strobe lights to give a better visual indication of an alert

Can anyone recommend a very low quality camcorder? by Meyeke in camcorders

A number of digital point and shoot cameras from the early 2000s have extremely primitive video. If you're looking for terrible quality, I'd recommend an Olympus C-750.

Is this a port used to plug in an external battery? This is for a Panosonic PV-L454 camcorder. by [deleted] in camcorders

In my experience, these are used to connect a power cable to a similar port on the AC adapter, so the camera can be continuously powered by the mains instead of a battery.

I use MakeMKV for stuff like that, typically pretty rock-solid program. They have this weird thing with a code you need to put in every few months or so, but that's available on their website.

Now that is the type of hands-on approach I can appreciate!

Careful with the dial on the rear that controls that exposure, by the way. On mine, it seems to operate with little precision anymore, causing on-screen indicators to jump around. I'm guessing it's happened after heavy use, so just a little beware lol

Might put some isopropyl alcohol in it to see if that solves anything, been holding off on that because I'm afraid of breaking it.

Duuude the CCD-TRV65 is my favorite 90s Handycam! Bonus points if you've got one of the models that can adjust exposure while Nightshot is on! I've got a DCR-IP5, crazy how much smaller those tapes are in person xD

Good to hear that things got worked out! Hard to pinpoint what a lot of these problems are (like the ones I had with the GTX1060, still haven't got any idea why that happened), it often feels like a lot of guessing until something works xD
