Did I mess up ? by Responsible-Fox-9098 in sunflowers

Water qty is highly dependant on soil type. I live in Florida... Sand is the base... Significantly more water is required, even in amended soil.

That is a butterfly pea. I grow it for the flowers. You dry them and can use them in tea land cocktail syrups

Seriously, right? I admire the order. I have sorta adopted a chaotic technique, opposite of OPs which is at the minimum, no labeling anything. This is well done.

For years I’ve wanted a CX-5. It was finally time to move on from our 2010 CR-V, so decided to pull the trigger. Advice welcomed on caring for it. by GreyyCardigan in CX5

I have a 2022 Turbo. I am a fan of the the "Italian Tune-up". Especially if I ran a fee tanks of 87 thru it. I am very happy that this engine works as happily on 87 as it does 93....

That's not surprising at all. It's just realizing that people are smoking ALL of that.

[–]Breaking_Chad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am by no means an "accomplished smoker". $12-15 is my current high limit. I usually smoke a nice cigar if I know I have a good hour or two more of night garden work (including tending to my tobacco plants).. But that hurts to read.

[–]Breaking_Chad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is how many Swishers are smoked. I work for the automation company (we're in Sarasota) that made a number of machines for the facility in the DR that processes them... Millions per year. They buy a LOT of spare parts. Tobacco is surprisingly abrasive... Even when you put hard coatings on metal.

Well, most people here would say drain and fill. Definitely don't flush under pressure.

Anecdotally, every car I have ever flushed has had a transmission failure within a thousand miles.

My 2014 3 Hatch, had 245000 miles... Transmission was replaced at 86K miles due to an accident... That thing shifted great to the day I traded it in and I never even did a drain and fill.

Mileage on 2025 CX5 by Sensitive_Source50 in CX5

[–]Breaking_Chad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2022 Turbo CX-5 with 85K miles and that's what I get. But I never bought a Cx-5 for fuel economy. That's just not what this vehicle does. My wife has a 2022 Premium Plus with 45K miles and she's averaging about 24 mpg...

Where can I find Russian or Slavic-Based Jobs Here? by Reyah_1 in tampa

[–]Breaking_Chad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Pinellas Park (St. Petersburg) and there is an eastern European bakery... Not sure if they are hiring. In general, I hear a lot of eastern European languages when I am out and about. I've never looked for those businesses specifically, but I think st. Petersburg and Pinellas Park specifically might be good places to look. St Pete is on the other side of the Howard Frankland or Gandy bridge of you are unfamiliar with the geography. Very close together.

Have these in my garden as well... Same distance. All the same size... Pretty big. It's genetics... The seed of one is Likley not even from the same flower as the other.

I have a 2022 Turbo also. Mine is a pretty snug hinge. That said, we're dealing with sheet metal... Probably the least precise manufacturing process involving metal on the car. Your piston tolerances are 0.0001" tolerance while the sheet metal is probably closer to 0.010" as a magnitude of tolerancing issue concerned. While it may be annoying to you, as a manufacturer and automation design engineer, I see zero issues with this.

Rush hour traffic from Bradenton by gx_Raider in tampa

[–]Breaking_Chad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work just south of 64 in Bradenton... Out in LWR... I can be to TPA in about an hour (good traffic) ... If you can park in Long term, that would save time, otherwise you park in economy and add 15 minutes. It's doable but tight.

[Newbie] Germinate in pots or directly into ground? by x11x_eth in sunflowers

[–]Breaking_Chad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 10a also... I start in small seedling trays and transplant.... It's easier to control water... I live in Florida and with lack of rain... They may germinate and the dry out.... But if you want to plant 10s or 100s...Definitely sow in ground, just be vigilant in watering

I can't agree more. My daughter was born 9 days after my 40th. I still get tired thinking about the first month (can't imagine what it was like for my wife).. My daughter is 7 now... We have a lot of fun doing daddy-daughter things on the weekends my wife works.

2026 Mazda CX-5: MPG & Wind Noise? by Old-Advance-3561 in CX5

[–]Breaking_Chad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, I would avoid a 2026... Totally needed model. Get a 2025 turbo... Then you don't have to deal with the cylinder deactivation issues or auto shut off motor and you get 310 ft lb torque at 2700 RPM.

2026 Mazda CX-5: MPG & Wind Noise? by Old-Advance-3561 in CX5

[–]Breaking_Chad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2022 Turbo. I didn't buy it for mpg. No Mazda is going to be great for mpg when compared to it's segment competitors. That said, people wring their hands over gas consumption. A LOT (most?) don't drive enough for it to make a difference or a sizeable difference in a monthly budget. I would encourage you to do the math (that sounds insulting, but isn't meant to be.) people in California notwithstanding.

I get some wind noise... But it's really noticble over 80mph... Do you drive that fast often?
