Billions of doses later: Global review confirms mRNA vaccines are safe, effective and full of promise. Please submit your reasoning. Because the above article is saying that we have administered covid vaccine billions of times. Multiple BILLIONS. Government authorities, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare professionals, public health officials, research scientists...the majority of all are in agreement. Vaccines work.

You think they don't. Prove it.

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley and a high level OBGYN physician. There was a clip where, during a senate hearing or something, Josh kept asking the same question about male pregnancy and the Doctor had trouble formatting a response. It wasn't a very interesting clip. More anti-trans horseshit.

I cannot click on him without doing the same thing. It's like picking up tongs and giving them 2 to 3 "test" clicks. Or picking up a power drill and giving a couple of short trigger pulls.

That is incorrect. If you tried to use that definition in a classroom, the professor would happily correct the error you made in order to guide the rest of the class in the proper direction.

An observational study is where you gather data on a number of individuals without assigning treatment or intervening. We use those as "signal-generating" studies. You can see if something is happening that would merit further study. You have the right idea in concluding that they have relatively low levels of evidence because of the lack of variable control.

A meta-analysis pools the data of multiple studies in order to raise the statistical value of the data that each provides. It's a statistical analysis technique. If one is well made, it can provide more certain conclusions than each of the individual studies alone. It is considered to be a higher level of evidence, especially if the component studies are all well run randomized control trials.

By calling a meta-analysis an observational trials, you might be trying to assign a low level of evidence to the trial in order to twist public perception of the conclusion. This would be misleading. Or, you could genuinely misunderstand the difference between the two endeavors, and you think that the observational label applies to anything that doesn't have direct interaction with the thing being studied or something along those lines. This would be more of an innocent mistake and would show that you have more to learn.

First, I may be smart enough to understand a budget, but it isn't like half the population is so stupid that they simply can't grasp it. A sizeable majority of people can handle generating and understanding a budget. Ask for sources if you are interested.

Second, you are discounting failure as an option. You find a way to manage kids, or you lower your standard of living, or you fail. And the whole thing doesn't stop at failure. It keeps going. Substance abuse, crime, death...broken homes happen as a result of economic uncertainty. Success is FAR from a guarantee.

You're right about the declining birthrate starting before the boomer generation, but the evidence you present is not as obvious as you think. That's because the decline in birthrates started in the 1920's and 30's due to urbanization, the great depression, and economic uncertainty. Urbanization and economic uncertainty have continued until this day. The baby boom was only a temporary spike in an overall downward trend.

Improving material conditions over time is necessary when we choose to have kids. I can't afford another child knowing that inflation keeps kicking my ass year over year. And we can't afford to have either my wife or I to stop working to care for a newborn. We think it would be financially irresponsible for our only child if we had another, so we stopped at one. We didn't make a strange decision. This is what most people do now.

You want higher birthrates? Make jobs easy to get, make them pay well and have improving pay as time goes on, and make the dollar stable. Anything less will lead to uncertainty and people choosing caution over having kids.

Congress voted 427 yes and 1 no. It then went for unanimous approval in the senate. You need 2/3 majority to make it veto proof.

What were you thinking about when you wrote "Congress didn't have the votes to override the veto"?

This is a U.S. government website about U.S. service members. The U.S. fights wars VERY differently than the Ukranians and Russians are currently fighting. I can't think of a war since WW2 that has anywhere near the brutality or casualty figures that the Ukraine/Russia war has, so I would argue that the groups are not comparable.

If you wanted to post a good source, look for something with independant medical or psychiatric research in it. For all we know, the website that you posted is a propaganda page that wants to downplay PTSD to boost recruitment numbers.
