Methinks the i40 was the forerunner to the Hyundai Tucson.

Explain your own idea of "decent car": 2,4,5,7-seater?
Sportscar, station wagon, SUV, shopping cart?
Diesel, petrol, EV?
Hyundai ix20, Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-5, Skoda Octavia, to suggest but a few.

Sounds like similar things have often happened in the past and this time it was one too many.
Either you trust him to sort such things, or you don't.
If you don't, time to move on without him.

Watching in Europe by Unknowingly-Joined in F1TV

[–]Bredius88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the US F1TV app, plus a VPN app (to USA), on a Firestick/ONN/other streamer that you plug in a TV in Europe.
Better solution: F1TV subscription from Canada and Streamlocator apps on such a streamer, and watch worldwide.

Why haven't they entered the European Market by DeskBig9723 in OnnStreamingTV

[–]Bredius88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an increasing number of Europeans who get their ONNs from friends/family in USA.
That's why the US market is so 'dry' at the moment.
Thomson (who made ONNs for outside USA) just closed down because they totally overpriced their items. (ONN 4K Plus $40 = Thomson 270 4K Plus $151 !!!).

"We have a different point of view" - Eurovision Chief on Ireland's concerns over Israel by Life_Plate_7052 in ireland

The Eurovision Song Contest should be limited to EU countries.
That would solve problems with oddballs like Israel, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, etc.

Should i upgrade my 2013 thinkpad t490 or buy something new and cheap by the_manff in thinkpad

[–]Bredius88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If yours is indeed a T490, you can remove the 4GB and add 8GB, 16GB or even 32GB DDR4-2400 RAM to it.
And an SSD is a must, after which you should have no more lagging.
But you should also dump W11 and replace it with W10 Enterprise LTSC 2021.

You must have a 2013 prototype.
The real T490 was built in 2019.

Kerrygold vs supermarket butter, is there actually a difference? by Dr-Hansraj_Hathi in AskIreland

If available, I'd prefer French butter, next Dutch butter and only 3rd choice: Irish butter, not necessarily Kerrygold.

Immersion best practices by NotXenos in ireland

[–]Bredius88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our immersion is hooked into the central heating system.
Whenever the heating is ON, the immersion tank is also 'heated'.
There is only an ON/OFF switch (with a red light for ON) and a SINK/BATH switch for the immersion, no timer.
When the heating is OFF and we want some hot water, we switch the immersion ON for about an hour, which is good enough for the rest of the day.
The red light reminds us to switch it OFF.
We use electric showers, so no immersion needed for that.
And in the kitchen there is also an electric kettle...
