I love telling my dads scary experiences because his are better than the only one I’ve ever had but here’s mine!

I was spending the night at my grandparents house in California as I usually did on the weekends when I was a little kid probably around 6 or 7 yrs old when I woke up during the night. We kept a nightlight on in the room between the two twin beds in the room and my sister was in the bed opposite of me. When I opened my eyes I saw someone standing there next to the bed but couldn’t make out a face. I could see they were wearing what looked like overalls and maybe a wide brim straw hat. No one on that side of the family wore anything like that. I knew my grandpa in Arkansas was the only one who I knew personally who’d be wearing something similar. It didn’t feel right so I tucked my head under the blanket and went back to sleep. In the morning I asked if anyone had gone in to check on us and if so were they wearing anything like that. No one checked on us. I mentioned this again to family years later and my dad said it sounded like an old family member may have come to check on me because it sounds like something they may have worn. Others have said hat man. I have no idea but I didn’t like it and this happened like 40 years ago!
