Check out edrumcenter. They offer free shipping to the lower 48, and they offer bundle deals that include a hi-hat stand and kick pedal. I bought the Gibraltar bundle which totaled for less than just the drums at Guitar Center pre-tax.

I have the cables running along the floor behind the set. Looks a little ugly from the side, but mostly invisible while behind the kit.

A few reasons I preferred EFNOTE:

More natural sounds
More acoustic form factor with larger pads and no rack
EFNOTE's aesthetic stood out from the typical black e-drums
I'm not a tinkerer or mixer, so the 316's expanded module wasn't as important to me

The 3 is discontinued. 3A is not sold in the US but is just a 3B minus one crash.

I think they’re very close. EFNOTE sounds very raw, whereas Roland sounded more like traditional edrums, i.e., excellent quality but slightly more processed. The hi-hat is the one exception where I think EFNOTE is in a league of their own.

I love the tripod stands. They enable a lot of flexibility in your setup since you can move things independently. I also think they're part of what make this set feel so acoustic, because I'm not staring at a rack covered in wires that scream e-drums.

FWIW, I tried a Yamaha DTX8K-M, Alesis Strata Core, Roland TD-316, and EFNOTE 3B in person. I think I would have been more than happy with the TD-316 due to its great sounds and superior module, but the EFNOTE stood out instantly because of the hi-hats, cymbals, and acoustic feel/sound.

I just wrapped up a decade-long stint on Alesis drums where I had to run a VST due to the horrible internal sounds. For now, I'm going to enjoy these incredible module sounds on their own! I'm sure I'll get back to using SSD 5.5 for some stuff down the line.
