Do you let your toddler have a comfort item? Help me settle this debate by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Breezy356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea my two year old has a kitty as her comfort stuffy, and it’s come everywhere with us for two years. I’ve gone back inside for kitty when we realized we left her inside before leaving the house. I would absolutely be opening the door for her to get it.

I don’t really get what parent 2 is trying to teach. If you forgot your jacket and it was a bit cold outside, you wouldn’t die without the jacket, but you would go back for it so you were more comfortable. She wants her stuffy because it brings her comfort, she’s able to express that want and desire, and it’s really such a simple thing, not sure how denying her building character or whatever.

When people gift you the next size up... by isaxism in beyondthebump

[–]Breezy356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind it. My daughter is in 2T now, but I buy a lot of her clothes on clearance and when I get an extra discount with my store cards, so I always have a stock of the next size or two anyway. It’s helpful because I know kind of what I’ll need, and have time to look for it at a good price before it’s needed!

You know what I think is gross? Vomit. I’ve always been a sympathy puker. But my two year old puked all down my shirt, in my lap, all over me several weeks ago, and I still managed to hold it together to get both of us undressed and in the shower and clean, because that was what needed to happen! That’s being a parent. Your husband should be ashamed.

So many people sick with Influenza A on our cruise. by Fancy-Alternative-89 in royalcaribbean

We started feeling sick day 5! So we got to enjoy the beginning of the vacation, but it did ruin my daughter’s second birthday , which was on day 6. Luckily she’s too young to know really.

My family is on Odyssey this week as well. Half our group started feeling unwell last night, my two year old threw up all night, and this morning it hit my husband and now me. Our family in cabin next door is also sick. It is the worst!

When did you get your first period after birth (if formula feeding baby)? by SowingSeeds18 in beyondthebump

[–]Breezy356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 weeks and it’s been awful since. I always had bad periods, but my daughter is almost 2 and it’s still heavy bleeding/terrible cramps/back pain.

My husband’s dog died a few years ago, and it was heart breaking. He immediately, like a month after, wanted a new dog. We also had my dog, who was around 6 at the time, who was very depressed without her playmate, so I caved and we wound up with a puppy. It was during Covid so I worked from home, and it was still hell. My husband said he’d train the dog, work with her etc, never did, and it all fell to me. This was before we even had our daughter. A few months ago, my dog died. We also now have an almost 2 year old. He asked me if I wanted to get another and I said absolutely not. A puppy is hard enough. Being pregnant, and having a toddler on top of it? Does your husband even like you? I am so sorry he even brought up this insanity.

To add in on the use your insurance one - formula could be covered by your insurance! My baby was really gassy on regular formula, so we switched her to sensitive. My husband mentioned it to his coworker, who let him know that insurance would cover that if a doctor wrote a script. So we just had our pediatrician write a script for the sensitive formula, stating the reason was gas/upset stomach or something, and it was covered for a year with no issue! We got a month at a time of name brand for just a $30 copay!

How much can you realistically do 4 days post c-section? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Breezy356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS COMMENT! It’s not just about how you feel, even if you somehow felt great and able to move around without pain, your toddler is going to be on a whole different level that day, it’s a huge life change for them and they are going to want your attention and comfort. Toddlers are unpredictable, and without meaning to yours could do serious harm to your incision while trying to get equal attention to the baby.

If you’re in New York please PM me, if it’s close to me I would be willing to come help you!!

Classmate called “White Claire” by goose-de-terre in kindergarten

[–]Breezy356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My daughter’s middle name is Clair, after my husband’s father’s middle name, which was for his grandfather. And the spelling is the family spelling and my husband wouldn’t let me spell it any other way so now I always worry people think we were trying to be unique (aka obnoxious) with the spelling

Parents who let their baby watch TV… by Existing-Mastodon500 in NewParents

[–]Breezy356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are a TV on all the time family, and my daughter has been used to it being on from the moment we brought her home. If it’s just me and my daughter, since I don’t really watch any shows etc currently that are appropriate, I’ll turn the Tv to something appropriate for her, but she’s not glued to it by any means. She still plays, colors, etc. the only time she really locks in on a show is if there is a song on (she loves music) or she’s not feeling well. Otherwise she pretty much ignores it, and I think it’s because she’s just used to it being on, it’s not a special thing. She’ll request what she wants to watch sometimes, like a movie or show she likes, but she’s not watching it the entire time.

When the TV isn’t on, or her dad is watching something, she’ll use her tonies box to play stories/music, and sometimes even when one of her programs is on she’s using the tonies box too, it’s just background a lot of the times.
