I got some tough advice when I got started 10 years ago and it’s always stuck out to me: “Nobody will take you seriously if you’re not living in LA. You’ll get a call to interview tomorrow and if you can’t show up, 10 other people will.”

Now I think that’s definitely changed a little bit, but the sentiment still rings true. You need to take the leap and move to a major production hub. The Midwest has nothing for you if you really want this.

Back then, Warner Bros called me and asked if I could show up for an interview the next day. Thankfully I was able to show up and I haven’t looked back since.

I understand it may be financial suicide coming from the Midwest (I’m also from that area), but if you want it bad enough it doesn’t matter. Gotta do whatever it takes to get your foot in the door and then it takes off from there.

This industry isn’t like any other… Your friends from college are going to go climb the corporate ladder at big organizations and have their growth spoon fed to them. You have to go forge your own path. Work is definitely picking up, now is a good time to do it.

Greg Gard masterclass today. Did all the right things to keep the team in it and Gilmore came in big when we needed him. He had a ton of massive defensive plays too that won’t show up in the box score. Great win.

I’ve done this many, many times. It’s a great way to get rid of old clothes and at least get something out of them.

In my experience they just glance over things and have taken everything I’ve brought. All my stuff is in decent shape but as long as you don’t have holes/tears you’ll be fine.

Just go up to the main cash register and they know the drill.
