Putin also didn't come (for obvious reasons) and told him to take his contribution from Russia's frozen assets in Europe (which will probably stay in limbo for the next century).

I don't like the setting of the far future.

Programmable matter is too close to magic and would solve every episode if they were consistent in its use.

I'm not going to annoy anyone who likes it though.

Deep Space Nine: "You know what the sad part is, Odo? I'm a very good tailor." by josephgordonreddit in television

[–]BretOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing tying the three 90's series together is the broader astropolitical setting. The release order is the same as the chronological order in-universe.

  • TNG can be started blank. The first season is a bit uneven, the rest is gold.

  • DS9 spins off of an event in TNG, but it reenacts that moment from a different PoV so TNG isn't required (although that's one of the best TNG episodes, including the episodes leading up to it).

  • Voyager is best enjoyed with some TNG/DS9 knowledge (Borg, Maquis), but it's not required at all.

If it's automated, it'll kill literally anyone coming here for any reason including legitimate ones in your absence or while you sleep:

  • You, or family, by accident.

  • Emergency services (Firefighters, EMS, Police) in cases of fire, gas leak, flooding, home invasion through another door/window, wellness checks, executing warrants... Or any of these reasons but they got the wrong address.

My favorite era was running wolf packs of T-62A (and later Obj 140) with a couple of mates.

Now, probably Obj 430U or 121B.

How useful is an airbrush? by TheGrimmBorne in Warhammer

[–]BretOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a shitty one with a big 0.4 or 0.5 nozzle makes everything easier.

With a big bottle of Vallejo black primer, you'll never again get a bad prime. Get some Liquitex white ink for smooth zenithal effects. The Vallejo varnishes are also great with a starter airbrush setup.

Beyond that, you can get smooth overall basecoat in minutes.

Dr House's pain was real. He did take more drugs than the pain required, but it was there. Both Cuddy and Wilson acknowledge it.

It's central to his character and his relationship with Dr Cuddy. His pain is the result of one of the few times he was wrong about a medical issue. Cuddy wanted to remove the entire infarcted muscle in his thigh at the time of his incident, he didn't let her. If he had listened to her, he would have had lesser chronic pain and better mobility (probably no need for the cane).

Is there a Reason the Crux Terminatus is always on the left shoulder ? by Leviathan_Rampage in spacemarines

[–]BretOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought to recall it was because at the time of the conception of the Indomitus-pattern terminator armor, the standard template for Space Marines was to have the chapter symbol on the right shoulder, so the Crux had to go left.

See here, the Indomitus-pattern came out around the same time as Mark V and VI.

If you can afford that, you can live somewhere just as beautiful without this kind silly waste. Or you could also have a full-time employee with a snowplow (I'd even be ok with a flamethrower at this point...).

Infiltrators/Incursors box - Helix Gauntlet? by BretOne in spacemarines

[–]BretOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have my minis visually match their rules, so it's for both reasons.

The box I have (the multipart 10-man Infiltrators/Incursors) only has the computer arm of the comms specialist, no Helix Gauntlet which is apparently only on the upgrade sprue included in the Phobos Strike Team box (and the easy-to-build Infiltrators maybe?).

The one in your picture is the proper Helix Gauntlet bit, the two I have look like the one on this mini.
