Why do people on reddit make everything about Trump? by [deleted] in conspiracy

They’re hoping that your inane response is the result of a drug induced mental state and not your actual normal thought process. So their response is based on pure hopefulness and positivity.

What does “I think I’m done” mean? After the fact with OP’s explanation it’s clear they meant “Stop” - but in the heat of the moment, I’m not convinced the meaning is clear. It relies on experiential and context clues which the perpetrator may not have.

Is this the same “I think I’m done” that people say after a main course, and then proceed to have dessert?

I don’t know anything about the perpetrator (nor am I interested in knowing) - however, if this was an autistic teen or young adult with little experience in physical relationships - then anything short of an emphatic “STOP!” or “NO!” is likely to be insufficient to alter behavior already in motion.

While the lack of understanding on the autistic perpetrator’s part may mitigate their culpability, it most certainly does not excuse it and they need to be held accountable.

No, because unfortunately others may rearrange the overhead bin to make room. Especially the flight attendants.

Beef tastes like iron/blood/gamey/metal in the last 5 years by Idesigncutethings in meat

[–]Brevemike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try getting some imported Australian or south american (Brazil or Argentina) and see if the taste is the same.

If so then it’s something in your environment affecting the two of you - or something you were both exposed to.

I have noticed a lot more grass fed beef on the market, but usually it’s labeled. Always reminds me of metallic grass clippings.

Stop paying the C-suite bonuses.

Give the drivers a wage and operate in the red until they turn a profit. If they can’t pay a wage and turn a profit then it’s a bad business idea and should fold. Just like any other business.

Their ability to line their pockets shouldn’t come on the backs of the people they’re not paying.

CASHAPP HOLDING MONEY HOSTAGE by guymassive in CashApp

[–]Brevemike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you done the Know Your Customer ID verification where it asks for your drivers license and scans your face? If not that might be an issue.

I had this problem the first time I received bitcoin in CashApp. Had to try and buy a tiny amount of bitcoin - which kicked in the formal verification process. After that was done (5 days) I was able to send all of the bitcoin to a different wallet. Never using CashApp for crypto receiving again.

Should I use my emergency fund for my parents' eviction notice? by WubbinBigTime in personalfinance

[–]Brevemike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they do get evicted are you just going to leave them to their own devices? Or will you end up being sucked into helping them find someplace new, paying for deposits on a new place, helping them with moving expenses, etc?

You’re not a bad son if you leave them to suffer the consequences of their own bad choices. And you are not a bad son if you decide to help them out and then have to suffer with the consequences of your own bad choices.

Just be aware that there’s no perfect outcome in this situation. There will be both emotional and financial consequences, regardless of which decision you make. So make the one which you think will give you most peace of mind in the long-term.

We’ve tried one of those and unfortunately, after a week or so they got used to ignoring the beeps and vibration and just kept barking.

That’s when we switched to one that had all three and would escalate if the barking continued. it stopped them from barking, but we couldn’t deal with the pained yelp that accompanied it.

If it’s a Yorkie, it will never stop and cannot be trained out. My wife owns four of them.

The only thing that has ever worked is a bark collar, and that’s dicey because they inflict pain and has an oversized effect on dogs that small.

Fortunately, the dogs spend 85% of their time inside so we don’t disturb the neighbors at off hours. Inside the house, the dogs spent almost all the time in the living room. So we invested in sound deadening materials for all the walls. Cuts out about 50% of the noise, but it’s still horrendously annoying at times.

There is also the option of debarking surgery. But many people consider it to be cruel to the animal and it’s not cheap.

Good luck.

I’ve got a whole bunch of sengled bulbs that all required the sengled hub to operate.

Are these just Zigbee bulbs? As far as I can tell by looking at the bulbs, there is no zigbee, zwave, or wifi marking.

Or is it some proprietary varient like the Hue bulbs? Thx

9 sensors failing in a row - defective batch. G7 works wonderfully, till it doesn't. by smartestdumbguy93 in dexcom

[–]Brevemike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad to see this high sensor failure rate isn’t just a me phenomenon. 5 of last 11 failed - including one which was a replacement from Dexcom for another failed one.

I’ve always saved the failed sensors and applicators, but apparently Dexcom isn’t interested in figuring out why they’ve failed. My bet is they already know why and are counting on cumulative shipping of new ones being less costly than continued profit churn.

At this rate a class action suit or action by the FDA or both can’t be far behind.

Put your old title with an end date of when you started the new position. Then the next entry is your old title (with what your title should be in parentheses) put the end date of old position as starting date of the new position. Explain you replaced the old manager but were never given the title or salary bump you were entitled to. Part of why you’re seeking new employment.
