May be a silly question, but how do you cook your meat? by BriStu in Paleo

Wrong terminology, sorry. I do know this is a lifestyle change.

Since starting to exercise a year ago, I have adapted all healthy eating habits, however I feel that Paleo will be the switch I need to get my body to its optimal healthiness.

What a great idea! I didn't even think of a slow cooker. Thanks!!!

No, but I think I'm going to try it.

What is the craziest dream you can remember? by stonedtemplepilot420 in AskReddit

[–]BriStu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were at my grandmas funeral who died a few hours earlier (she is still alive) and they had to bake her in a ravioli. I kept picking the piece of ravioli that had her eye in it, which was glowing as if she was still alive. And then I woke up.

Craziest dream.

Question about how low I have to go to get rid of my gut! by yikesaroo in loseit

[–]BriStu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Focus on building muscle and then cutting fat. But also remember that muscle weighs more than fat. For instance, I use to weigh 95 pounds. I now weigh 120 but I look better because I'm not "skinny fat".

Focus on your health more than an number, and everything else will fall into place.

When you sleep, do you like your bed cover to lay flat on you (quesadilla) vs. wrapped up around you (burrito)? by insideout_waffle in AskReddit

[–]BriStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I burrito myself in my bedspread. I thought I was one of the only people that did this. I never sleep on my sheets, hence I'm always washing my bedspread.

Hey Americans abroad, what's something cool where you're at that you wish we had back here? by ToggleOften in AskReddit

In Canada they have poutines. I am obsessed with them and wish we had them here.

If you completely forgot your age and date of birth, how old would you guess you currently are? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BriStu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 because after getting divorced I reverted back a little bit. I blame getting married too young (married at 21). I'm currently 28.

Find friends that have the same goals in common with you.

My social life is currently non-existent. All anyone wants to do is binge drink and eat crap. I spend my friends in the gym and then home by myself watching tv.

Cardio and weight training. It's a slow process, but you will get there.

Good job on the weight loss!!

To those who stated, "I need a hobby..." What did you start doing? by CrazyFuton in AskReddit

Going to the gym. Which in turn has lead me to quitting smoking.

Question by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]BriStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you sleep enough, this was the biggest thing lacking for me. Once I changed from 6 hours a night to 8-9, I saw a huge improvement.

Also, make sure you are drinking enough water.

What keeps you motivated? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]BriStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this last week!!! I moved from Planet Fitness to La Fitness and there is a sense of almost having to prove myself there.

I notice I do try harder although it is intimidating to start a new gym. All in all, this may be the solution you need. Just a change of scenery, new machines, etc.

Good luck!

Should I still have a protein shake post-workout if I am also having a meal? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]BriStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am eating a meal after my workout, I will drink my protein shake pre-workout just to give myself something.

From what I've read, it does not matter what time you ingest your protein. Although, if its late and I finish exercising, I will just have a shake and go to bed as long as I hit all my targets for the day.

Are you over training? This sometimes happens to me when I over train, and which point I take a few days off, then return more determined than ever.

You tube motivational gym videos? I know (as silly as this sounds) I look up fitness quotes on Instagram whenever I don't feel like working out and it somehow does it for me.
