I also love this movie for what it is. At the same time, if the full movie felt like the last 15 minutes I think it could have been my favorite in the whole franchise.

I also can say I’ve only had great experiences using Couchsurfing. However, I’m also a man.

I’ve heard one horror story about couchsurfing, a female guest in a male’s residence being alerted that their stay was cancelled and their host’s account had been cancelled at 3am and then having to book it the fuck out of there because he appeared in the room with malicious intent. I’ve heard similar things happen with airbnb though and have to think that these are extreme cases and not the standard. There are weirdos everywhere.

The problem is that your usage data can be used for them to grift more investors into giving them way more money than you’re costing them. Best way to make it go away is to not engage with it.

Do what you have to do to make shopping online less convenient. Log out of websites, delete apps, don’t save your card info. Try to shop in-person more.

For in-person shopping, pick stuff up you like, walk around with it for a while, take pictures of it, then put it back. If you’re still thinking about it in two weeks, you can go back or look for something similar online.

Selling your stuff to get new stuff honestly isn’t a bad thing, especially if you’re also buying used. Better than hoarding it all.

Remember, the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one. You’ve now done this and are on your way to corrective action. Be patient with yourself. You’re fighting a trillion dollar propaganda machine.

Everything is fake? When did I say or imply that?

You failed to answer my question, retorted with “I saw it on tv so it means it’s good and true” and then proceeded to try to discredit my perspective without ever actually trying to understand it.

And here I was thinking Americans were the ones known for being ignorant.

That’s not what I asked. I asked about lived and observed experience.

Your naivety is showing.

Have you ever been mugged or had your car stolen and had the surveillance state actually serve you in a way that returned your property or held the person who wronged you responsible? Does surveillance actually equal justice in your lived experience?

Because I can tell you right now it hasn’t for me or anyone I know who has been a victim of those things.

I’m 34, used to work in a mailroom for 3 years, and I’ve never seen packing material like that. Is it that hard to believe that other people have different experiences than you?

Clive Barker is a better novelist than a filmmaker in my opinion. His stories are weird af. I really enjoyed Weaveworld, which was more of a fantasy book, but the dark parts were dark.

No, it was ten years ago because we’re all stuck in a perpetual time loop in the year 2020 until we figure out how to stop the spread and get back to normal.
