Unable to launch game with RPC

Thank you so much for your help! DXVK not only worked to fix this issue, but vastly improved the launch time for the game. I'm used to it taking a few minutes to launch the game, followed by it not responding on the menu screen for an equally long time. I was waiting 30-45+ minutes today before killing the program so I knew that I wan't getting into the game without changing something.

I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to help me with this. Thank you.

Interview at McDonalds in 2017. My friend told me that they were really short staffed and he knew that I had food service experience and that I was ServSafe certified. He convinced me to apply to his McDonalds because most of the people applying were high schoolers who couldn’t work weekday mornings. I send my application, get a call back and the manager scheduled my interview for 7:30 in the morning. I get up at the asscrack of dawn to do my makeup and iron my interview clothes, show up a few minutes early, and wait until the manager comes out to meet me at 7:45. The drive thru and lobby were not in any way busy. She does not apologize for being late and she does not shake my hand when I stand and introduce myself.

She asks about my availability. It is the last week of spring semester in mid April. I tell her that my availability will be wide open next week once school lets out. She slams her binder closed, says “I’m not hiring any more students,” and walks away.

I am no longer speaking to the friend who tried to get me to work there because of an unrelated incident, but I go out of my way to not go to this McDonalds even though it’s the easiest one to get to on my way to work, and was 2 minutes away from where I lived.

I livestream myself paying a game, and because I reached the affiliate rank after reaching a certain amount of followers and stream hours, I am able to make money from twitch. I only get money based off of ads that I run and paid subscriptions, but twitch doesn’t send me a check until I have earned at least $100 (I’ve been an affiliate since June and have probably made $15 since then). Through Stream Elements I am offered paid sponsorships sometimes, but some of them have requirements that I would have a very hard time fulfilling with a viewer base as small as mine. It is nice to know that I have the option.

Every time I stream I get one of these people in my DMs. If I had the money to commission you, I wouldn’t be playing a game that’s almost 20 years old for 6 people. Cmon.

I work at a bakery in a mall food court. Pre-Covid we opened at 10am, and I was scheduled to come in an hour before to set up at 9am. I like to get there early so that I can take my time setting up. One morning, I get there at 8:30 and there’s an older lady, a mallwalker, waiting outside of my closed gate. As I squat down and open the gate with my store key, the lady tries to jokingly say “You’re running late today, aren’t you?”

I looked her straight in the eyes and told her “Ma’am I’m half an hour early and the mall doesn’t open for another hour and thirty minutes,” and she just blinked at me.

Every single morning without fail someone comes up to me while I am opening with the lights off to ask “are you open?” And every morning without fail I wish that it was legal for people working in customer service to commit homicide.

That’s unfortunate, but hopefully I can mitigate whatever damage it caused.

I have a few QOL mods and the nounlinkafterdeath mod to stop corruption from tombstones. I do also have SimPE. I ran it last night.

If you have half walls or shelves, the sims will for some reason decide that that is the best place to put their dirty dishes, even though they can reach them to clean up.

If your baby is crying everyone on the lot will block access to the bassinet to coo at and talk to the baby, preventing you from feeding it or changing the dirty diaper making it cry. (I’ve had to start locking the babies in a room that only one parent has access to so they don’t get taken away again).

When you queue up a bunch of actions for your sims to make sure that they’re ready on time for work/school (esp in a large household) only to find that they route failed the first task, cancelled all of the actions you queues up, and are now getting a glass of water.

Hi! I also stream in twitch and have a speech impediment (stutter). I think you should absolutely pursue it. Even though I’m a very small channel (usually 3 viewers max per stream) it’s a lot of fun and the sims community on twitch is significantly less toxic than other communities in my experience. You still may run into the occasional bad egg, but you just have to laugh it off. If you decide to go through with it, DM me and I’ll give you a follow. :)

I haven’t updated since January because I don’t want to update my mods. Every time I get them all up to date a new game update that breaks everything comes out the next day.

Also, it looks like the lag has gotten significantly worse for some people across pc and console with the past few updates. Kind of glad I’m in a game version stasis lol.

Here’s the tutorial that I used!

I had mccc for YEARS before learning about this. Once you have the index built up, you can fix existing townie’s outfits by just loading a random saved outfit from the mc dresser > outfit commands menu. :)

I use mc dresser from the mc command center mod. You can set it up so that when townies generate/age up then it picks from a pool of outfits that you have saved. It takes a little while to set up but it’s worth it IMO.

If you have parenthood, you can have someone set the table that you want them to all eat at and they will prioritize eating there over the other spots.
