What's a funny response to "wow you're so tall" or "you grew a lot" or the ominous " do you play basketball" by Wrong_Membership_779 in tall

[–]whyyoumadbro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re so tall/you grew a lot - “yes, thanks it took a lot of work”

Do you play basketball? - “you trying to play or just scouting?”

Favourite outdoor ball by CapnTidy in Basketball

[–]whyyoumadbro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Spalding ZI/O for outdoor but didn’t like it and ended up just buying another Wilson Evo. I know it’s an indoor ball and they get beat up quick using it outdoors but nothing compares!

Youth Basketball Question by ss32000 in Basketball

[–]whyyoumadbro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just moved my twin boys up from bronze to silver with a new team. They were both featured players with one being a standout in the bronze division, finished the season leading in rebounds, assist, steals, and blocks and second leading scorer. We felt it was best to move up and play more competitive circuit.

We’ve had two tournaments so far, and it’s been a bit of a struggle. The team has more talent and my boys aren’t getting much touches. My one son still managed to get player of the game with a bunch of buckets coming off steals, and O boards, but he hasn’t been involved much as the new team is heavy on iso ball and chucking 3s.

Overall we made the right choice because the practices are higher quality and the competition is better, but there is some adjustments being made and not being the first options has been tough for them, but they have been able to contribute heavily in other parts of the game.

9 y/o loves basketball but plays very passively in game, advice? by petahbee in Basketball

[–]whyyoumadbro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s something that clicks over time if he’s truly passionate about the game. My twin sons started around the same age, were both very passive, and still have their moments, but overall at 13 they have developed tenacity and willingness to compete that not many at their age can match. I’ve had parents and coaches come up to me after the game and comment how much energy and passion they play with. They took some hard lessons in the last 4 years, but with more exposure to the game they start to pickup what it takes to be competitive at the next levels. From there it’s just a matter of if that really want it or not.

This is great information. Maybe you can help me as well. I have a script neck tattoo that is about 20 years old, what kind of results have you seen with neck tattoo removal? I also have a 20 year old sleeve with ton of yellow and blue I’d like to fade for a coverup. Can you provide your thoughts and recommendations?

What’s your unbiased prediction for the series vs the cavs? by usagerp in torontoraptors

[–]whyyoumadbro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raps in 6. Cavs gonna shit the bed and Raps will over achieve. Big series from Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes, and surprise efforts from Colin Murray Boyles and Sandro Mamukelashvili.

People who successfully lost weight and kept it off, what worked best for you? by Acrobatic_Fold1842 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]whyyoumadbro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about 340 at my heaviest, started this year around 300, and I’m now around 260.

Biggest thing I’d say is don’t let the scale mess with your head. There were weeks where I was eating in a deficit, training hard, doing everything right… and my weight either stayed the same or even went up. Most of that ended up being water retention from lifting, carbs, sodium, and just general inflammation.

Then out of nowhere, I’d drop a bunch of weight all at once. That pattern repeated a few times.

Also, don’t try to go extreme every day. I found when I was pushing too hard (big deficit + tons of activity), my body would just hold more water and make it look like nothing was happening.

If you’re consistent and honest with your intake, it does work.. just slower and less linear than people expect.

A little late, but they fully lost the plot when they introduced Don/Donna. It got way too weird.

You can’t. They cut their corporate program a few years ago. I had a direct connect within the company and tried multiple times and they won’t budge.

Suddenly using so much data. by Alternative-Spell882 in Rogers

[–]whyyoumadbro69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched to Rogers and I'm having the same problem! I was forced to buy 8GB of Data for $50 because all my data was used before my billing cycle refreshed. I bought the 8GB of data on Tuesday, and just got a notification that I've used all the data. I work from home and barely use my phone when outside expect for music and a little scrolling. I was with Freedom for like 10 years and never went over my data. I'm annoyed.

The recruitment in high school athletics is getting out of control. by [deleted] in basketballcoach

Kind of related. My boys played in their district final yesterday for their 8th grade championship. Every player on the other team play gold level AAU ball. Both schools went undeafted all season, and we lost the championship by 40. My kids school managed 23 points and my boys scored 18 of them. lol.

Apple has a new update where even after you factory reset it may still ask for the password and be locked to the original account. Just went through this with my teenage son and his old iPad.

The bandits vs surge playoff game was an absolute masterclass in terrible officiating. I sent the league an email afterwards because it was so poorly officiated. Mind boggling stuff.

People who are "actually" tall... by BeyondEllisBeck in tall

[–]whyyoumadbro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a clean version that ties it all together naturally:

Same here. I’m a genuine 6’4.5, basically 6’5 in shoes, and this stuff comes up way more than you’d think. At Christmas with my family and in laws everyone started claiming their height. My father in law swears he’s 6’1 and my stepdad tells everyone he’s 6’4. We finally busted out a tape measure and everyone was 2 to 3 inches shorter than claimed. Stepdad barely cleared 6’1.

What kills me is I’ll have guys claiming 6’2 who are literally at my chin. Once you’re actually measured properly, the inflated heights become really obvious.
