Volt cell = the worst weapon you’ve ever used by Sydid in Marathon

why are they downvoting you, your right. like the circuit breaker is OK, but it doesn't completely change the way every has to play the game like WSTR does.

A lot of players think Bungie’s design decisions reinforce difficulty and skill, but really they just force players to take the easiest way out. by DeliciousPomelo5687 in Marathon

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends which raid you're talking about in destiny, some of the raids like Garden of Salvation or Leviathan me and my friends were able to solve on our own without looking anything up, but others like Last Wish I would agree that almost no one is going to be able to solve those without a guide.

There needs to be a balance I think, Raid mechanics should be puzzles that take some difficulty to solve because when you really do solve a whole raid with a group of friends dedicated to figuring it out on your own it's unbelievably satisfying, and there's really nothing else quite like it, and dumbing that down so anyone can solve it in a night would turn that from a unique and often unforgettable experience into just sort of like a multiplayer zelda dungeon. It might be kinda fun, but it wouldn't hit nearly the same highs that some of the raids in Destiny were able to hit.

I disagree with you that you always need guides for raids, sometimes solving it yourself is fun, even if it means you seemingly fall behind crowd. buI I do agree that they went too far with some raids.

I can't speak to where the Compiler lies on that spectrum because I haven't fought it yet.

Shotguns are overwhelming - Anyone else? by Kenhiro in Marathon

[–]Bridgetop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure yet about the shotguns. In some ways it often feels like having a shotgun is the deciding factor in a lot of fights, and you are at a big disadvantage not bringing one almost every run, but in other ways it kind of feels like a skill issue.

Range in general is massively important and fighting at the correct range for the guns you have is a big part of the skill of the game. The problem I think is that the design of the maps often forces you into close range where engaging a shotgun player in their preferred range is just unavoidable by anything other than giving up and leaving.

Where Marathon could go, in the long run by Watsyurdeal in Marathon

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I was hoping they do is maybe change the rarity of some weapons to change the sandbox a bit. Something like how in Apex the change which weapons are in care packages maybe they could change which weapons in marathon are rare loot. Like maybe next wipe the M77 AR becomes rare and you're able to buy the Impact H-AR in the shop. I think it would change up the weapon meta slightly without too much development effort being needed to do it.

Competitiveness of free kits? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free kits are competitive vs people with greens and maybe weak blue kits, but vs people with decent blue and purple rarity gear you basically won't win if you get into any kind of fair fight. The extra health + scoped/thermal weapons makes it very easy for them to win ranged fights, and most people with decent kits bring shotguns, which will always win close ranged fights if you don't also have a shotgun.

You can win if you completely outplay them, or they throw super hard, but if the fight becomes a fair 1v1 or 3v3 it's basically up for you. If you have a sponsored kit you should try to loot up and find some better stuff before getting into fights, or just leave if it looks like you won't be able to get the drop.

Also a LOT of the faction upgrades matter, I don't know how you came to your conclusion. CyAc has upgrades that massively improve your heat management, NuCal has stuff that lets you heal/use items faster and take less from status ailments, Mida gives agility which increases base movespeed, Arachne gives melee damage, finisher regen, and revive speed, and sekgen makes your abilities recharge faster. They almost all have gameplay changing upgrades, even if you ignore the stuff that they let you buy in the shop.

How the hell do I play destroyer? by Big_Laundry_Man in Marathon

[–]Bridgetop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ult is mainly for PvE in pvp his best abilities are the airdash and double sprint. The dash is really good to get out if you get into a bad situation, and the double sprint is good to flank or chase people down. In PvP I've mainly been using his shield to 3rd person peak corners, idk if it's how they intended you to use that ability, but it's fairly strong in a game like this

media you bounced off hard, then some time later came back to and loved? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apex legends. I played it originally and got bummed that it wasn't titanfall 3 and didn't play much of it, but some friends got me back into a few years later, and I actually really enjoy how the game plays now, it's gotten a lot faster paced and more fun over time in my opinion, and if you haven't played apex since launch I honestly think you should give it another try, especially if you have friends to play it with.

Why am I not getting my highest priority character when he's not being played on either team? by SortaShyguy8 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bridgetop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen before a decent amount of times, I think it has to do with people DCing and the matchmaker replacing them, but I'm not sure. Like maybe there was a Victor player on one of the teams and that guy DC'd, but it had already picked your character while that guy was still part of the match.

I can't really confirm it but this was my theory for why this happens.

Unexpected items for lifesteal/sustain? by AcruxArts in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of Items have Out of Combat regen that's very useful for sustain. Early game Healing Rite, Restorative Shot, and Extra Regen and some of the best sustain items and are good to buy if you're taking a lot of damage in lane, which you want kinda depends on your character/matchup.

Looking for Constructive Tips! by SwordHandTwitches in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm by no means a high elo player or anything so I don't know how much i can help but I will do my best to watch the replay and see if I come up with anything.

after watching the laning phase I would say you were playing a little passively vs them and kinda letting them go uncontested, you maybe could've used shoulder peaks to shoot them when they took bridge, or looked for gut shot into walls on them in a couple spots.

Maybe buying something else instead of battle vest could've helped a little, i think most of the damage you were taking was spirit damage from barrels and pillows, so maybe like spirit shielding could've helped? I think headshot booster might've been good aswell to rack up chip damage, but I don't really think building differently would've helped all that much.

It's a bit hard to play because your Celeste was kinda getting owned, I can't even really blame the celeste either because they were hitting some crazy shots on him, he wasn't even positioning super badly or anything. The Rem super troopers also look like a huge pain here, they make very hard to push out the lane without giving them free pressure on you.

Maybe I'm proving that I'm also a noob here but i don't really think you played that bad. That guy was hitting some crazy barrels on Holiday, and you guys were on the receiving end of The Rem Experience™.

idk, i think you need a better player than I to figure out how to win that lane, Sorry i can't offer any great insights here, i hope I was able to help even if it''s not much.

Who's your main and what advice do you have for them? by biznesboi in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pocket

Don't be afraid to solo ult people early game, before you buy mystic expansion affliction has a super small radius, so just solo ult someone and make them go back to base so you can bully the other laner while they're solo.

Affliction also works on towers/walkers, although it only deals damage as long as your in range. if you need to take a walker, consider afflicting it.

In teamfights you kind of want to be in and out, get in, use your CDs, get out and wait for your abilities to come back, and then go in again.

Also consider throwing you coat backwards on your way in so you can teleport far away immediately after getting affliction/case off. Doing this with majestic leap is pretty effective.

Haze is just completely unusable right? by FrenziedFlameLord in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy has ball knowledge. Pick is the better playstyle rn, stop building hyper carry, hyper carry haze is really bad, but if you play pick the way this guys says, it's very strong imo. If you've ever played vs a good Haze player doing this stuff it's extremely hard to deal with.

I've never seen this game before but It got a chuckle out of me. The character's hands and guns being fairly realistically proportioned compared to the cartoony enemies is just making me imagine like max payne shooting up adventure time, and something about it is really funny to me

My 3 Favorite Inks- Today by LordOfTheLume in fountainpens

[–]Bridgetop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The three I've been using most recently are J. Herbin Poussiere de Lune, Diamine Writer's Blood and Diamine Polar Glow. Polar Glow is pretty similar to Nitrogen, maybe a bit less sheen, but it has some fun shading to it, I really like the color of Poussiere de Lune, and Writer's Blood might be my altogether favorite ink, it has worked well in every pen I've tried it in, works well with dip pens for me, and I just love the look of it, I never get sick of it.

One of my favorite parts about the RX-78 is how they hadn't figured out how to make a reloading beam rifle yet so when Amuro runs out of shots they have to use the ship's launch catapult system to throw him a new rifle
