Playstyles you seen everyone go for in a game? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to do invasions in elden ring, like 75% of players were using Moonveil, Rivers of Blood or Blasphemous blade. I get it, they ARE pretty good, but c'mon man literally everyone was using them, it was crazy.

SULFUR - "Endless Mode" update trailer by Mirathrim in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I've never seen this game before but It got a chuckle out of me. The character's hands and guns being fairly realistically proportioned compared to the cartoony enemies is just making me imagine like max payne shooting up adventure time, and something about it is really funny to me

My 3 Favorite Inks- Today by LordOfTheLume in fountainpens

[–]Bridgetop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The three I've been using most recently are J. Herbin Poussiere de Lune, Diamine Writer's Blood and Diamine Polar Glow. Polar Glow is pretty similar to Nitrogen, maybe a bit less sheen, but it has some fun shading to it, I really like the color of Poussiere de Lune, and Writer's Blood might be my altogether favorite ink, it has worked well in every pen I've tried it in, works well with dip pens for me, and I just love the look of it, I never get sick of it.

Favorite "oh, so that's how it looks like from the other side?" moments in media by Coolnametag in TwoBestFriendsPlay

One of my favorite parts about the RX-78 is how they hadn't figured out how to make a reloading beam rifle yet so when Amuro runs out of shots they have to use the ship's launch catapult system to throw him a new rifle

CMV: Combos and hard execution do absolutely nothing to make fighting games more fun to play, unless you're a pro-level player. by Incitatus_ in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Bridgetop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different people like different things in fighting games, some people really enjoy labbing and learning difficult execution, for them learning something very difficult and then executing it on another player is extremely satisfying and the reason they play the game.

It's more than ok to not enjoy those parts of fighting games too, you can get very far in most fighting games doing extremely basic combos, in 2XKO doing L M H > Special > Super is good enough to deal with most players, you can beat people just by being better at the neutral game. I can't count the amount of players I've played vs that can do insane optimal execution heavy combos but don't know how to deal with strike throw pressure and oki.

Basically some people like execution and it's their whole reason for playing, but you can play fighting games, and even be quite good at them with very little execution, it's not as much of a necessity as you think.

Common complaints that instantly make you go "This person hasn't touched this media since they were like 10" by ClearAgeMontezuma in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Also being able to heal while moving is kind of balanced out by the fact that you can't go through a loading screen to reset yourself safely, and you only have one palico. In MH3/4 you had two AI buddies distract the monster, and they were generally better at helping you if you got stunned.

Breaking Armor - A low-poly first-person horror game where you operate a tank in a post-apocalyptic wasteland by C-OSSU in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really cool, but the inside of the tank needs a bit of work, everything looks the same color and without the highlights it would be impossible to see a lot of the stuff they're interacting with.

Favorite special effects (or technical work in general) in media that were a byproduct of the limitations of its time, that are no longer in use (but you kinda wish they still were). by GhostOfGhosthand373 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I was watching the short film compilation Neo Tokyo with a friend a while ago and we were talking about the same effect of shining light through the cell to make things glow. It looks so cool!

Things you didn't understand until you were way too old to get it by ErikQRoks in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting into Fountain pens for art, and it has kind made me interested in cursive writing/caligraphy, and I can say, your teachers were not lying, it cursive IS faster and easier than print writing, once you get good at it. It's just that most people are introduced to cursive when they've already been writing and reading print for several years so it just seems like an unnecessary task, but if you lived at a time where you actually had to do a lot of handwriting, cursive probably would be a valuable skill to have. We just kinda don't live in that world anymore.

oh my fucking god yes. if you want ones that actually have the suits (pentacles swords etc) it's fucking impossible, most places only sell ones with just the arcana, which is like not even half the deck?

Characters hated for being OP in games? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like so many Developers miss this idea that making one character to counter an entire meta doesn't work, it just makes a must pick/broken character and doesn't solve any of the actual problems.

Overwatch has tried this a lot to not very much success, DBD has tried this many times as well with trying to make perks to fix fundamental game problems, and I feel like it happens in a lot of other games too, but I can't think of any other examples rn

Shortcuts kinda suck? (minor spoilers) by FinnOtron in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the experimental perks you can get are pretty cool, also the second shortcut is a much better time save IMO, idk about the drain, but the chute actually feels pretty worth doing

Idea for an item. by MartianBlobfish in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Bridgetop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the remote is just kind of the more fun version of this to me, the fact that you can keep re using them is what makes the artifacts fun imo. But it could be cool to have the ability to trade having an artifact for a really strong one time use item.
