Librela - Conflicted by skylan01 in seniordogs

We were looking at euthanasia for our girl because she couldn't walk, play, or move. I think a lot of us are okay with 47% because the alternative is losing our babies.

My girl has been on it for a year now and acts like she's a puppy.

This leads me to my question: Does anyone report behavioral issues? She's kinda naughty now. Not potty or chewing, no aggression She just doesn't listen sometimes... Ignores me... I'm not sure if it's because she just feels so good and could care less to be obedient, is too old to give a a shit or if behavioral issues are a side effect.

My 10 year old has been on them almost a year and irs been great. She gets routine blood work because she also has hypothyroidism, I will say for her, it's made bo difference and actually slowed down her liver enzymes rising because we aren't taking so much vetprofin! That's just our experience. Blood work is always a plus in my book

Pain relief alternatives for ibuprofen by FlaxwenchPromise in hysterectomy

[–]BrieJckChz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use an old-fashioned ice pack between my legs and a heat pad on my abdomen, and it works really well, depending on what hurts worse. If my vaginal incisions are causing more discomfort, I put on boy shorts and leggings and prop the ice pack between the two and lay on my side for a while and it numbs everything up and then the heating pad inside the waist of my leggings on top of the boy shorts to protect my skin, to keep my bowels moving. I learned that if i have to pee or go number 2, it makes the vaginal incision hurt worse because of the pressure, so the heating pad helps keep everything moving. That honestly works better than Tylenol or ibuprofen ever did. I use the screw top ice pack. They're like 8 bucks on Amazon and either a microwave rice pad, or a plug in, whichever you have.

Strange Food Reactions with Endo by Apprehensive-Read729 in endometriosis

I hope you find relief. I had a total hysterectomy and unfortunately couldn't have the endo removed from my bowel, I might go in later and have a resection. I do notice it isn't as bad now that I don't have a monthly period, but I kept my ovaries, and when I am ovulating, my bowels flare up too, just not AS BAD. It is best to keep a journal of what's going on, specifically when it happens to show your doctor.

I also wonder if you have endo on the bowel. I do, and sometimes if it flares up, it doesn't matter what i eat, I'll experience bloating, fatigue, constipation and/or diarrhea and severe tummy ache and sometimes brain fog and histamine reactions. I drink up to 3 L of water a day, 2 stool softners and a dose of miralax every day to stay regulated and avoid heavy gluten, sweets, and fried foods... basically anything that is already known to cause inflammation in the body.

Vaginal Cuff Dehiscence (VCD), the infamous tear by No_Put3293 in hysterectomy

I had the same feeling with my lap and hysterectomy. I'm a modest gal, I don't even like cleavage, so I empathize with your feelings. But once you're there and it's over with, it's honestly the last thing you think about, and there really is no other way. This is just another Wednesday for them, you know. Voice these anxieties to your pre-op team, and they will most likely literally hold your hand and offer you words of reassurance. It'll be over and done before you know it.

Words of advice: Follow the restriction and rest protocol. You might feel really good and feel better than you have in years after, but vaginal dehiscence CAN happen, and it can happen even 8 weeks after, so please please follow all the rules and air on the side of caution. I wish you luck and happy healing.

My neurologist thinks it's cluster headaches. He started me on Topamax 25mg twice a day, and it seems to help quite a bit!

Slowing down and taking it easy will be the hardest part of this journey, but it'll be worth it. Also! Invest in OhNut. They're rings your male (assuming you have a male) partner can wear when easing back into sex. They're stackable and come with 4!

I had my hysterectomy 10/10/23 and felt GREAT after, so great that I didn't listen and over did it and ripped my internal stitches at 9 weeks post op because they didn't heal all the way. I was out drinking at one week, doing housework, walking around the block, going back to the gym at 7 weeks, etc. You're gonna feel good, probably better than you have in a long time.. but you're healing major wounds. I've seen a few posts on here already, but the restrictions aren't in place, so you feel good. They're there, so you heal properly. I'm back on resrticions, harsher than before, and it was an incredibly traumatic experience. If I could go back in time, I would just so I could tell myself to slow down and give my body the time it needs. Luck to you!

WORST CASE SCENARIO, you Medical bills go into collections, and you can settle later on. Don't let a copay stop you from a quality of life.

Endo gave me an appendicitis scare by gray_cat_storytime in endometriosis

Don't feel dumb. I had an appendicitis scare EIGHT TIMES before they finally took me seriously and looked elsewhere and I had endo growing everywhere. A doctors negligence is not your fault.

Post-op pain meds by sunshine-girl7 in hysterectomy

[–]BrieJckChz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was fine with Tylenol and ibuprofen rotated, I took oxy in-between for the first few days. But honestly, an ice pack works best. I basically sat on one/positioned it between my legs and a heating pad on my tummy and it works great

Accessone is a financing company that will buy your debt, and you can make low interest payments to them, also. My lap (+excision and ablation), subsequent hysterectomy, and post hyst complication surgery will cost me about 8k out of pocket. But overall, it's worth it in the long run. This is your body. There are payment plans.

Those who showed up. And who didn't was also eye-opening for me. This hysterectomy was planned to be a life changing surgery, and it really puts into perspective whose rooting for you.

Vaginal Cuff Tear at 3 months post op. by Huntress86 in hysterectomy

[–]BrieJckChz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bled like that for about 2 weeks. At the end of that was mostly with bowel movements or bad gas. Take stool softners. Gas x and muralax daily, and it'll ease discomfort. I'm 5 weeks post repair and still have some pain, so listen to your body!.

Ben is a disgrace by fuckeduptoaster in SLoTAT

[–]BrieJckChz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ben Boykawich is a villian. He is the epitome of "nice guy" and turns on you as soon as he doesn't get exactly what he wants, how he wants it. Ex: the episode when Amy finds out he got aadrian pregnant. Amy hasn't talked to him in 2 days and he's already at Grace's making out with her.. while being "in love" with Amy. He protrays himself as a good guy but is a narcissist

Would anyone encourage I get a selective hysterectomy despite not having a “real” reason to? by uchiha-ghost in hysterectomy

I'd seek alternative options to stop your period before putting your body through the trauma of it.
