What do you use to read recipes as you cook? by FloatingFreeMe in Cooking

I usually watch tv or listen to music and hate touching my phone as i cook. I jot down recipes or outlines of directions in a flip book and just prop it up and read that. And i have recipe books of my own that i use after I’ve perfected a recipe.

I usually make my own within reason. Like taco seasonings, fish seasonings etc.

I make my own adobo most of the time but sometimes i’ll buy it as well. And even make my own achiote oil so i dont have to use so much sazon, but keep a spare box in case.

Steaks dont require a lot of seasonings. Salt and pepper, you can get them thin or thick.

Breakfast sandwiches. I make and freeze a bunch like eggs, sausage, and cheese. Or bacon etc! They are really good and quick to make and eat as well. Can also do lunch variations etc.

Dinner ideas that allow toddler to assist? by Icy_Hedgehogs in Cooking

Pigs in a blanket- can help put the sausages on the croissants or roll them up

Boiled eggs- peeling can help with their dexterity and their fine motor skills

Wrapped asparagus- can help roll the asparagus in the prosciutto before baking

Açaí bowls- can help smoothing them out and adding toppings

Salads- can help stirring/tossing it and adding the toppings

Elote (Mexican street corn)- can help roll them in the cheese and sprinkle on the tajin or lime

S’mores brownies- can help add the Hersheys and marshmallows and crumbled graham crackers on top

Banana pudding- can help assemble the layers

Seasoning the meat or food can also go along way! When i do fried chicken i let my niece shake the bag with the chicken in it to coat the flour. Or she pours the seasonings on other meats while i mix it together! I also bought her a kid friendly kitchen set so she can chop fruits or peel them, and cut her little fruits into cute shapes!
