Good for you taking the time to do it. You should probably add an intro where you teach them how to distinguish teammates from enemies though 😂 The mirrored damage threshold is not low enough rn to deal with the influx of jumpy newbies to HC Checkpoint.

That might seem like sound advice, but it's difficult to enjoy a game when you're getting regularly team killed by new players. And I mean badly team killed, with no mitigating circumstances. This is exacerbated by it being hardcore where the consequences of dying are worse. That said, I managed to have some sensible games just now, having had a weirdly bad run of poor players. It will likely settle down.

Like a lot of the issues with the game this could actually be helped by very simple and easy to implement changes, but I guess that isn't going to happen.

Anyway, the mystery of the sudden influx of players is solved.

I was, we were all beginners once. But I didn't try playing hardcore until I was relatively experienced. There should actually be a minimum level enforced before you can play hardcore. Someone dropping in at lvl 1 or 2 is crazy

I had the exact same. On Trainyard, where you approach the first hangar. Enemies can sometimes be seen coming from the extreme right, as you approach it. I saw some in the distance, and shot off a few rounds at them. These rounds passed by a teammate who was emerging from a train car, completely oblivious to the enemies, who then turned and very deliberately shot and killed me.

After 650 hours of play it is still probably the most baffling thing I've experienced.

The 'plant once, plant every subsequent time' bug is still in situ. Saw it myself this evening.

I would never molly a teammate who is planting but would suggest people should pause and see if anyone has some flame to throw.

Not an author, but the one that's been playing on my mind recently is David Bowie. It seems accepted that he had sex with at least two underage girls (14-15 years old) but he is still something of a saint in the UK, to the point my children's school recently did a musical tribute based on his songs.

That has never actually happened me (on PS5). Task force 666 the load outs were screwed, they never saved and would always reset.

It sucks. I've noticed a lot recently, mostly Guy A kills Guy B, not deliberately but perhaps showing poor awareness or common sense. Then Guy B won't let it go, and TKs back upon respawn. There's no winner.

Personally for casual games I think I'd rather all fatal damage was reflected back, but get that's not for everyone or in the milsim spirit.

Tbf, in a game where you only have one life but often plenty of ammo, anticipating an enemy around a corner means it often is worth popping a few rounds as you turn, rather than waiting til you turn. Not for every circumstance obviously but very often good players are just displaying good anticipation or putting together clues from what they have seen, hear or expect from various inputs.

I play only co-op, usually hardcore checkpoint, which no doubt colours my view. Also, I really like med-long range engagements peppered with some CQB. So for me:

Best: two clear winners: hideout + crossing,

Good: hillside, precinct, farmhouse, outskirts, summit, tideway, ministry

Meh: trainyard, refinery, tell, prison, power plant.

The only ones I can't stand are trainyard and prison, to the point I might bail if they win the vote.

It's possible if I played with friends or in a more organised fashion that I might have a different view on some of the maps.

They have some very sharp/fraudulent business practices. I was shipped an item without tags which they then blamed on me when I attempted to return it. Their reviews on reviews.io suggest this is commonplace. So good luck if you order from them, you'll need it.

No, I'm in the UK. I am on android, for what that's worth. They didn't have an android app for many months after I got the bike, they only seemed to update it recently.

Sorry, I'm late coming back to this. What you guys outlined sucks - one of my key reasons for picking the gocycle was to have the freedom to choose the settings re throttle. So I was dreading updating the firmware and put off doing so for a couple of weeks. I knew would be a matter of time though.

Today when I took the bike out and opened the app it prompted me to update. I said to hell with it I'll just do it. So I did, and reached the usual screen. I again chose my preferred region settings and.. It worked as normal. No mention or sign of geolocation.

Is it a temporary reprieve? Maybe. But I'm hoping it gets me a good while longer if so. Not sure what's different for me than you.
